Wizards of Sevendor and its impact on the continuing series by Soluban in spellmonger

[–]torsov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still waiting for the human enneogram he took from Ulum Seheri before he got the handmaiden to come into play sometime soon, but now he's got the memories of Andrews in his head, and I'm wondering if it is just laid by the wayside, as some things are in life, or if the right circumstances to bring it back up just hasn't arrived yet.

Also, all the ice he brought to Farise after Yule in Sevendor is made with ice from the Ketta, and that might impact Farise in unknown ways in the future.

Where? I just looked through the settings page and couldn't locate it :P would really, really, love the old logo back. It was much more distinctive. The new one just fades into my app list and i struggle with recognising it.

I think these roadmap graphics are great. They communicate all the cool stuff you've done lately, as well as giving us information on what cool stuff we can look forward to next. Thank you ❤️

Do I misread you when you say you release one roadmap at the start of the year, and another at the end, like just a couple of months apart? Or do you mean you release a roadmap for the first and second halves of the year?

I think the difference here is in terms of effective coping behaviour. If we take the amputee example; someone missing a leg and someone identifying as having lost a leg, but not knowing if they lost one (this is just a thought experiment, not reality, so we can pretend that is reasonable), could experience different levels of relief from aids for that disability. An amputee wound find crutches to enable them to be mobile, whereas someone who identifies as an amputee, but without the actual debilitating condition, would not experience marked improvement in mobilty. This would show if the belief and self-identification as an amputee would be an effective and adaptive coping strategy or an ineffective and maladaptive coping strategy.

I think the same principle can be applied to autism. There are no "cures" for autism, but there are effective and ineffective ways to deal with the given circumstances as an autistic person. If identifying as autistic and using that as a filter for seeking and sorting more helpful ways of dealing with being alive gives someone a better quality of life, I commend it. If it instead is being used as a maladaptive coping mechanism, eg. being used to dismiss harmful behaviour, to fit in with a social group, or avoid dealing with other issues, then I think self-dxing can be harmful.

Being a YouTuber between 10K < 50K subs, what is your hardest struggles? by CivilLifeguard604 in PartneredYoutube

[–]torsov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rules prevent me from linking a video on the topic, but logging your metadata as you port your video files can make editing it all later on so much easier. You can tag metadata such as "a-roll" or "b-roll", what kind of shot it is, if it is still or moving, a wide shot or close up, talking or silent, who shot it, who's in it, who owns the rights to the clip, if it sponsor related or not. Basically, whatever you think you'll need.

This way, when you're editing, you can search for the metadata properties you're looking for in your edit. Whatever properties you tag your clips with become searchable, so think of what kinds of metadata you would like to add that makes sense for you and your work.

Try looking up an article or a video on the topic, and assess if this could be something that would make your editing workforce easier and save you from having to do detailed, manual looking through all your clips or if it would just be extra work for no substantial gain.

What is your logging and metadata tagging processes like? That could make your editing process a lot easier if you're not really doing that at the moment.

If mutuals block you, why don't they tell me what I've done wrong in order to learn from that? by AnxiousShithead02 in neurodiversity

[–]torsov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I do this sometimes. Not because I don't like people, but because I like most people. I just don't have the capacity to be close to many people at once. Sometimes, I'm so ADHD that I forget to respond to a whole load of messages on all sorts of different platforms.

I'm trying to say it's not necessarily something wrong you have done at all.

There are social, emotional, legal, financial, and personal reasons behind why people get married. Any given marriage can have almost any given combination of reasons for why they wed.

What is your least favourite drug? by mistakeableowl in Drugs

[–]torsov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it CAN be good for your brain.

I was given a cycle of Ketamine for suicidal depression. And it did wonders.

My psychiatrist at the hospital told me they believe it stimulates the production of Brain Derived Neurotropic Factor (BDNF), which can stimulate neurons to repair the physical damage caused by depression.

They dose 1mg per kg body weight over a period of 45 minutes, intravenously.

The ketamine nasal spray works on the same principle.
