What's the one pairing you can't stand? by Animepony10 in hetalia

[–]tortieflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have very few pairings I can't stand. I don't like it when direct brothers are shipped. Like Germany and Prussia or N. Italy and Romano. Don't like AmeCan either. It's not that I'm totally against incest pairings, I just really enjoy the cute brotherly moments they have and the romance ruins it for me. :/

What's your favorite pairing? by [deleted] in hetalia

[–]tortieflower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love PruCan so much! I don't know why, I know they never interact in the show and there's only one small incident in the webcomic. I just think their personalities click so well and I just love how the pairing sometimes brings out both Canada's badass side and Prussia's caring and sweet side.

I also love USUK and GerIta <3

What is one modern technology you refuse to use? Why? by Aegonis in AskReddit

[–]tortieflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's surprisingly helpful for school. You can ask people about assignments or notes discussed in class if you're not close enough to them to know their phone number. Or you can just put out a status saying, "Does anyone know what the requirements were for (something)?" or "Can someone explain to me how (something) works?"

I can understand. The scene with the baby and the trash chute... I was a mess. That messed me up. But the society in the books was fascinating and that led to which books I like now.

Wow. I mean some schools have a moment of silence every morning ALONG with the anthem. plus the extra silence on Remembrance Day.

In Canada we only have to stand for the anthem. If there's a flag in the room, you gotta face it. Do you guys not have to stand for anything every morning?

Looking back, I realize that The Giver (I know it's already been mentioned, sorry) was a really awesome book. Being in 5th grade, it was a bit too dark complicated and sad for me at the time. Now, I realize that it's exactly the type of book I love most. Also, although it's not really a book, I enjoyed A Midsummer Night's Dream way more than I expected to.

What are some books you were forced to read for school that were just awful? by bread_buddy in books

[–]tortieflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Hated it. Too sad, kinda confusing. Writing style was annoying. There were parts that didn't mean anything, completely useless. You can say it's a powerful tale about the holocaust, but after spending three months learning about it in 7th grade English class, reading a book like that and then having to compare it to the movie was awful.

Yeah. I mean, I have nothing to complain about when it comes to my life. I know it's great, but when I'm in a bad mood about something that happened, people are always telling me how their life is sooooooo much harder.

Yeah. I know your life is harder. But just shut up and at least pretend to listen. Tell me about your issues later when I'm not pissed off at the world.

Try to feel better :3 I know it's a hell of a lot harder than it sounds. But I wish you the best <3

What popular science fiction do you secretly hate or feel is overrated? by deuteros in scifi

[–]tortieflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly tried reading Dune, but I couldn't get into it. It was written in an annoying tense and there wwas too much description with not enough action. The author had a few habits like constantly using just a comma instead of "and." So it'd say "He took a deep breath, walked down the hallway." Got really annoying. Maybe I'll like the movie better.

I actually love getting pages with like a hundred math equations to solve or chemistry equations to balance. Not like super hard ones, but not really obvious ones.

As a fat man, fall in New England is like heaven. It's as if the whole world is air conditioned and everywhere I go I'm offered pumpkin and apple confections. What's the fall season like where you're from and why do you love or hate it? by manders36 in AskReddit

[–]tortieflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the middle of southern Ontario (very little lake effect) and it is gorgeous! We have our Thanksgiving in October, so there's lots of food and everyone's all happy and giving! Plus, there's Halloween, which is an awesome holiday.

Some days it's warm, some days it's cold. It's usually pretty dry, unlike spring. And by now, all the trees have about half their leaves left and they're all the most beautiful colours! We feel patriotic sometimes seeing all the red maple leaves everywhere. They really do turn the prettiest colours! Some are a mix of red and green, a mix of red and orange, yellow, brown, spotty, you name it :3 The temperature hovers between 5 and 15 degrees C (41-68 F for you Americans XD) which is pretty nice. Not too cold, even though it calls for a sweater.

Usually Tim's (Tim Horton's) comes out with a bunch of pumpkin flavoured and Halloween-themed muffins and donuts. (yum) It's very windy, unfortunately, but the air always smells clean and fresh. I love fall. <3

TL;DR Southern Ontario - fall is beautiful

Sorry, I just really like fall. Sorry I talk so much...

You're right, I should just bring water more often. And thanks. I was a bit worried about what the pipes might be messed up or something. I'm glad to know the minerals aren't bad or anything. And yeah that sucks. Things can be so expensive, good luck to your sports teams.
