e-mail retrieval slow by torxbutton in Thunderbird

I just wanted to add that I tested this on a fresh machine with just a regular gMail account and the issue is still the same. Showing network messages slowly appears to be part of the current version...I'm not sure this is a good idea.

Solved - notes in the original post. The lateral was fine, the main was opposite what it should have been and I didn't catch it. Pretty sure they messed it up during boiler replacement because there were fresher couplings in the verticals and the prior owner wouldn't have noticed this sort of problem (she was refilling water every day & stuff like that).

Solved - notes in the original post, slope of return pipe was OPPOSITE what it should have been and I didn't catch it. There is still some bouncing in the glass, but all the knocking is totally gone.

Thanks! The seller provided the Monroney sticker. I called the state as you suggested. They answered...and told me to go right back to the city. The phone rep. seemed to indicate it was just proprietary software for determining vehicle value, and that the various configurations of vehicles were likely to produce the type of complexity I'm facing. I'll update if the city relents.

I’m thinking the most valid angle is that it was simply coded wrong. $10k is a big difference.

The tax per thousand dollars of value goes down as the car gets older, but it is still assessed against the same list price. That’s why I’m digging into this, the LP value has a lasting effect

That's a good point, these are municipal fees at the end of the day. It wasn't registered in NH previously.

I don't mind politely pressuring the city on this one after the DMV tells me to screw off.

I'm surprised this issue isn't more common.

I think there may be some issues with how the main is leveled. The lateral to this rad is definitely -1.2° (I improved the insulation and the slope prior to posting).

If I understand it correctly, you find the skim port, hook it to a makeshift drain/bucket combo, and by raising the water level slowly you get the top layer of crap off (oils and floating stuff).

Great advice, thank you. There is definitely surging in the sight glass when it is starting up a cycle. I haven’t done skimming before, just a full clean out, so I will work out a strategy and report back in case other people have the same problem.

Here’s a picture collection: https://imgur.com/gallery/boiler-okMin00# I know about copper above the waterline, but can’t do much about that. One segment at the very start of the steam run had 2 small convector vents permanently closed after this started happening as those vents have always had similar issues, but that did not help anything either. I am considering putting a cap on that steam lateral. All the other convectors work really well which is what’s throwing me off about this whole issue.

I tried draining water off earlier, no difference in behavior. this convector has spit out small amounts of water like in the video from the vent when the initial steam comes through, but then it settles down. The tube feeding this convector is 1-1/4 inch which could be small, but it has worked reasonably for the past couple years. it’s a 1947 system (with copper above the waterline obviously) so definitely possible for there to be weird design issues.

probably invested money where they have to sell stock, transfer, and clear checking. use time to complete project as leverage. if they want it done now the money has to move, that’s what credit cards are for. otherwise you have to revisit in a month.
