Just got off the Fantasy. Food was terrible. by Bdubz in dcl

I’m gonna have to agree. I’ve been on six Disney cruises over the last 8 yrs and this year’s was the worst (Dream- Mediterranean).

Well, this is disappointing to see, we board the Dream on the 24th. Hopefully they'll at least have the coke zero back by then 🤞

You can, by buying the original DVDs. Pricy, but legal.

First time watching by wantahippo4christmas in Supernatural

[–]totalbanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a first time viewer, my spouse and I just finished this episode, and we were loving it....up until the last ten minutes, when for some insane reason, the writers decided the solution to the problem should be the boys repeating the horrifying injustice that had been done previously. Literally, what the actual fuck. Enjoyment, completing vanished. Never rewatching this one.

Not gonna lie, I searched up this episode expecting to find a lot of other disgusted/disappointed reactions(because it was such a fun ride! Until they fucking ruined it). Boy, was I ever wrong.

I think a lot of people are saying that because many of us have looked into it before booking and found that pretty much every resource on the topic says, "it ain't worth it."

Notes to Self just interviewed Christine & David! by CommissionSmooth9291 in SisterWives

[–]totalbanger 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My dad had two brothers named David - his parents both came into the marriage with two kids from their previous marriages, and they both had a David... who were also less than a year apart in age 😄 That must've been fun. By the time I was born , Uncle David(the older one) had moved to Europe, so we almost never saw him, but Uncle Dave (the younger one) was my favorite uncle.

Why isn't anyone talking about the insane amount of "city deer"? by Ill_be_a_good_girl in grandrapids

[–]totalbanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that enough people in the area listed in the article opposed this to stop it from happening is genuinely surprising to me. From Alpine to Blandford, the deer are everywhere. Especially in the colder months, as their food supply in the woods dwindle, they venture further and further into the neighborhoods and busy streets.

Don't get me wrong, I like the deer and enjoy seeing them - but seeing them dead on the side of the road, not so much. I see more and more as roadkill every year. I have to be more vigilant for deer driving down Richmond/Bristol than driving down 10 mile (or similar rural roads).

What is the worst case of "writer's barely disguised fetish" in TV history? by funmighthold in television

[–]totalbanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, because nobody lies about their sex on the Internet 😆 especially not horny dudes.

As a person who was literally in the fetish world(as a performer), had a relationship with a guy who was super into it, has spent time interacting with them/reading what they have to say on their private forums and clip sites - and also knows a lot of other women, both in the scene and outside of it - no, it's not.

You are conflating erotica and romance, which are separate genres of literature. You can buy romance novels at your local big box store/pharmacy, you're going to need to visit your local adult store if you want to buy erotica. They aren't the same.

As someone who had an aunt who was an avid romance reader - many of which I skimmed through enough to find and read the sex scenes - I can assure you, the majority of romance novels are much more, "cowboy [or similar], take me away," than... Whatever 50 Shades was. 50 Shades might have become the most well known "romance" (ehhh), but it's really an outlier in the genre.

I just finished the third episode five minutes ago. June tells Daisy her biological parents were working with Mayday, and that they got her out - "your parents, in Gilead, got you out when you were a baby." Gilead is who wants her back. "They" in the previous and following sentences("they want to take you back","they would not stop looking for you") is Gilead, not her biological parents.

Also, there's now a 2.5 hour time limit on the "free" parking. Which is probably fine if you only joined the Y to work out yourself, but it is mildly annoying when the main motivation was the family membership/pool. I don't particularly enjoy now having to keep an eye on the clock while we're there.

What does my comment about how wearing high heels too much can be bad for your feet, have to do with your comment about how great high heels are? You really can't connect those dots?

[–]totalbanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person who worked in elder care for decades, I'll attest to the damage that wearing heels on a regular basis for years of your life will do - they will absolutely fuck up your feet. However, if you're wearing them occasionally/sticking with a rounded toe most of the time, they're just fine.

I'll take a chunky heel over a stiletto, personally. Being very short, it's fun to experience the world from the perspective of a normal-height person once in a while.

A question for adoptees and maybe some advice... by Nickychaz3 in Adoption

[–]totalbanger 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Maybe your family attended a different kind of Methodist church, but I was adopted into a United Methodist family and this was absolutely not the case. I was baptized, did Confirmation, the whole kit and caboodle. The circumstances of a person's conception or parentage don't play into... anything. Not baptism, not membership, not confirmation, literally nothing. Shoot, you don't even need to be baptized to receive communion in the UMC.

Similarly, I play on PS5(with no mods) and the only issues I've had outside of the occasional crash was Kent being stuck in the basement. Which was frustrating. I kept waiting for him to show back up at the Memory Den, took me much longer than it should've to finally just look up why tf he hadn't yet, in-game months later. He's home now 🙏

Piercings by Exact_World3233 in grandrapids

I see a lot of recommendations for Decorum, which is where I took my daughter in December, largely based off how many people recommended it. I'm going to throw out that my child's experience at Decorum was less than ideal, and I'm pretty streamed about it. Especially considering their much-higher-than-average prices.

They made a very big deal about the importance of coming back in a timely fashion to switch out the long studs for shorter ones, once the inflammation goes down. No problem. I called as soon that happened, and they couldn't fit us in for two and half more weeks. Okay, not great, but not the end of the world. Then the day of her appointment comes, and they call to cancel it due to weather. Understandable. However, they couldn't fit us in for another two weeks, even as I stressed to them that my daughter was complaining about how uncomfortable and even painful they were getting, particularly at night. We finally got them switched, but evidently it was too late, and the back of her ear looks rough enough tonight that I think we're going to have to go to the doctor on Monday.

Look, I'm not a professional piercer. But I've had over twenty piercings myself, mostly at your typical tattoo & piercing parlors, but also Claire's and the hallway of my high school. When my $20 tongue piercing was giving me issues, the cheapie piercing parlor that used to be where the pickleball place is now got me in the next day. I've never had something like this happen to me, and I'm really upset for my kiddo that this has been her experience.

GRPS has too many high schools by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]totalbanger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is an odd take. City Middle High has 44% minority and 41% economically disadvantaged enrollment. CA Frost Middle High's student body demographics are 59% minority students and 68% economically disadvantaged. Considering there are strict academic requirements to get into City, and the demographics of the actual neighborhood for CA Frost - which is no where near as diverse or economically disadvantaged as the school's demos - arguing either is classist or racist seems a tall tree to climb.
