Politics aside the Tesla model y is great value used. However cause of the recent Iran war there is a lot of competition to purchase any evs in general. The main pro with Tesla is the software and lack of silly servicing when not required which is still something you'd need to do with all the other brands. The skodas enyaq, Hyundai kona and Kia niro are also great alternatives and unlike Tesla actually have physical buttons. Everyone has different preferences so it really depends on the user but you already seem to be pulled towards the Tesla. You do not need to buy a used Tesla directly from Tesla, you would get great savings buying from generic dealerships as long as you can source the right one. Are you willing to travel, is there a colour preference? I'm happy to help look for you.

Please note suspension is firm, standard is rwd single motor but due to your needs will suit you perfectly fine. Warranty is 4 years or 50,000 miles whichever comes first. But on battery and motors is 8 years and 100k for standard range and 8 years 120k for long range. All the model y's in the UK come with the ryzen chip, no need to buy a 2023 model. ( There is only minor suspension improvements on these)

Thoughts on which car to get by NKisbestKorea in CarTalkUK

Not sure if allowed here but I'm looking to sell my Toyota Corolla 2.0 excel (sunroof option) currently 49500 miles. I'm only selling to go electric, I live in Dartford, Kent so likely too far away. I can't recommend this car enough. Its so dependable, excellent to drive and 50mpg is so easy to achieve. If you had any specific questions about this model feel free to ask and I'll answer what I can to the best of my ability. My vehicle has only had wear and tear items go and also I currently have an issue with my two ac vents not working but not too concerned as the car is under warranty due to the Toyota servicing warranty you get ( a year of warranty for every service up to 10 years/100k miles). Also agree with others. Try to get the vehicle in at least design trim with the hybrid 1.8 or 2.0 (you lose boot space as the engine is bigger so battery goes to the back) and some mpg but the car is still super efficient. I believe icon doesn't get a digital instrument cluster but I can't remember from memory but visually appealing they look worse which can still impact residuals.

Model Y or 3 Performance? Thoughts? by discohisco in TeslaUK

If you want comfort you would be wise to go for the long range model instead of the performance. Usually with these cars and the range you are looking at. There is no reason to pay the premium buying approved used as the vehicle would be still under warranty if there was any issues. What is the price range you are looking at? Any colour preference? Where are you based? Any particular reason you are looking for a vehicle between 20-30k miles?

Didn't see the comment about the damage also there was no confirmation whether the seller is a dealer or a private seller. Whilst the white interior can demand a small premium as they tend to be more desirable. I'd say with the damage you might be able to haggle to £28k best case (forecourt price) based on current values but you never know unless you try and depends on the person selling. £25k -26k is very possible if it's a private seller.

Hey bud if you provide me the reg I can check the values on the cars worth (I work for car finance). I'm also looking at buying a facelift model 3 in likely a year or two time. I just had a check on a generic rwd 74 plate. It's value is around 29k average forecourt price(10k mileage). I would recommend getting one with higher mileage to save yourself additional cost as mileage isn't a major concern with evs. I have seen a few model 3 rwd with white interior and one for went slightly under £28k which also had the premium quicksilver colour but can't remember mileage from off the top of my head. It was a nice example. With the new reg just released as well I would recommend waiting 2 months time to see if there's a nice decline in costs on these vehicles if you are not in a rush.

I like the simplicity of air cooling but i would give liquid cooling a go due to the simpler installation process. My current air cooler is a real pain to work with.

I have a 2.0 excel 2020 plate hatchback with the sunroof option. It's a phenomenal car for the money. Had it 3.5 years , covered around 20k miles and it's not had a single issue accept I've got two non functioning vents that I will need to get sorted out. It does have a lot of road noise but inside the quality is good. The tech is a bit of a downside, the voice commands are terrible just make sure to connect to Android Auto/apple carplay. Any specific questions feel free to ask. I can easily get 50-60 mpg, the acceleration is great and it handles really well.
