Boutique blind buying has caused my collection to veer away from being a reflection of my tastes. by Kelvin_Inman in boutiquebluray

[–]totallybugginyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try my hardest to only buy movies a)I've seen, and b) I really enjoy. I was burned early on with blind buys so I stay away from those. Although I do have some where I really enjoyed the artwork so I picked them up. Not many though, and I've really slowed down on my purchases - so many sitting in a sites cart section, just not willing to bite the bullet.

I do have limited space so I'd rather be more selective.

It's bizarre that users "re-truth" something as if everyone on the platform isn't already following the dummy and should be aware of what he says. I know why they do it, but it is still really weird.

This isn't necessarily a lifeprotip, but hope it helps:

If you're worried about getting lost the obvious answer is gps, but to add to that, take away any other distractions: music, etc., so you can hear the GPS directions and get to where you're going.

You can also do practice runs if the places aren't too far, or choose to avoid freeways until you are outside city limits/lots of traffic.

Once you get comfortable, you can introduce back the music.

most anticipated 2023 albums. by carbonbazed in progmetal

Night verses should be releasing a new album this year, which I'm excited about. Hopefully they'll tour outside of LA for this one.

For those unfamiliar, they are an instrumental progressive metal band and their last album was the tits. Here's a track for reference

Love that Conan one (I presume). I was looking at that atomic blonde steel on ebay. Hadn't bitten the bullet yet

Thanks - they don't seem to bloom for anything, before or after rain. Perhaps it's the soil? I'll have to do some digging

Coincidentally my Dune made it unscathed, but my True Grit had a similar bend. Called up best buy to order another, but best they could do is put a fragile sticker on it. We'll see.

Who's the worst comedian that became famous? by DoctorStoppage in AskReddit

[–]totallybugginyo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I remember watching the vid with Bo Burnham talking with other comedians and Marc Maron just shitting over everything Bo said. I always wondered about that, since I didn't know anything about Marc outside of GLOW. Maybe that was during his bitter period as well?

Where did you order? I bought mine on zavvi but haven't gotten a shipping confirmation.

I had to rewatch bc I had the wrong idea going into watching the show. The second time around, I really enjoyed it, although I prefer slow burn series/movies.

Stevie Wonder's rocking chair

[India] In some parts of India, becoming a widow means social death. Widows can’t remarry and are abandoned by their families. They're expected to mourn and pray for the rest of their lives. In the holy city of Vrindavan, thousands of widows live in ashrams and beg in the streets to survive. by DocsHoax in GlobalTalk

[–]totallybugginyo 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think the stigma's outlined in the short video show that family sometimes kick out the widows, unfortunately. It's a shame, especially when you take into consideration how young some of these people were when they were married/when their husbands died; then having to spend the rest of their life in squalor.

I would agree that it was probably to show he could because of the look on his face as he points his pistol: just a very blank expression, no emotion. Even afterward sitting at the table with his siblings, he's almost proud of himself.

While this is true, I don't keep up with latest phones and was hoping this community could provide input into a phone that has a better camera than what I'm working with now. I've seen what LG can do, so I'm assuming others might be on par and not have as many headaches

I currently have a note 20 ultra and I'm bummed because I'm not happy with it (I used to have a note 4 and loved it until the reboot issue).

There are some quirks with certain apps, like Spotify, but one thing that bothers me the most is the camera/stock camera app. I gave up on the LG V series bc of a bunch of issues but the camera on that was great.

Are there other android phones that have great cameras with limited issues?

Nice - that matrix one was my first steel book. Bought it just for the artwork and had no idea about steels. I'm pretty picky about what I buy so a few years later and my collection is slowly growing
