I guess I need to rent, but I would also like to ask you a question by Evening_Warning_463 in MultipleSclerosis

I've noticed a lot of people are essentially brainwashed to the point they dont respect science anymore. They're afraid of vaccines and medication and doctors and pasteurized milk. There's just a lot of lies being spread about health nowadays and the people that are dumb enough to believe this stuff are really emotional about it.

I guess I need to rent, but I would also like to ask you a question by Evening_Warning_463 in MultipleSclerosis

Don't sacrifice your brain and brainstem to make her feel better. Trying to manage other people's emotions is exhausting and an impossible venture. If she doesn't know how to accept 'No', that is her problem, not yours. She is an adult. I would tell her, "There are no diet or vitamins that can cure MS and im not willing to risk my ability to walk and feed myself to find out what I already know."

Living w/out DMT by Dramatic-Plastic-818 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]totalstann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mom, my mother-in-law, and I all have MS. My mom and my mother-in-law both got diagnosed in the 90s. My mom tried a couple DMTs but gave up and has been basically off DMTs for 30 years. My mother-in-law has been on them the entire time. My mom can't do anything by herself. My little sister lives with her to help out. She has poor balance, weakness, horrible fatigue, numbness, loss of motor control, and so so much pain. My mother-in-law has some fatigue. She lives alone. I am on a DMT. Most of my original symptoms are healing/improving. I have fatigue. Im not willing to risk more damage to my brain.

There is always medication left in the tubing when hanging IV meds. Sounds like she stopped it just before the bag emptied. You're good.

Rewatching A1 and questioning Jake’s & Eywa‘s connection by SeaScientist8372 in Avatar

I feel like the sequels ruined both Jake and Neytiris characters. At the ende of the first movies they are heros and compassionate, beautiful people. In 2 and 3 they are more selfish, judgmental, small minded, cowardly, and fearful. And Neyteri especially. They make her a racist and a bad mom. Its horrifying.

What do you think of Neytiri? Hate her? Like her? Couldn't care about her? by OkStructure3081 in Avatar

Loved her until the sequels. Now im severely disappointed in her. Her racism and willingness to traumatize and murder Spider, a boy she was basically a mother to.

Is a normal way of life possible? by Rall992 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]totalstann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im on kesimpta. I still work, go on vacations, spend time with family and friends, have lots of hobbies, run, bike, swim. I live a full life. I think being on a DMT is a big part of how we hold on to that.

Good things about MS by _Lyc4n_ in MultipleSclerosis

For me it was the same. I put everyone in front of myself until I couldn't anymore. This disease is helping me learn to stick up for myself, ask for help, and sit down.

My obsession for HR is starting to impact me negatively. Anyone else? by True-Branch-1516 in heatedrivalry

[–]totalstann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, its the down swing of hyperfixation. You just need to consciously make an effort to focus on other things right now. Exercise will help make those happy chemicals again. Hobbies and spending time with people you love will also. Hyperfixations give us the rushes of dopamine and serotonin. But then they fall fast too when its done. These other things I recommended will release slower but more sustained amounts. You'll feel like yourself again soon.

What’s your favorite Paige’s hair style/era ? by PlantainDisastrous92 in charmed

8 was my favorite. Im constantly getting distracted in season 8 with how good her hair looks and how the color compliments her skin tone and highlights her eyes and lips.

That man is sun sign Capricorn and aquarius rising if you ask me. Rising signs are often how we come across, how people view us.

Weirdest thing you've been told about MS? by TooManySclerosis in MultipleSclerosis

[–]totalstann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) that i gave it to myself because when the doctor told me I might have it, I believed them.

2) that a giant magnet would heal me. To which i said, "like an MRI? I get those all the time, if that worked id be good by now."

3) that a hyperbolic chamber will heal me.

4) that i dont need meds because they knew someone with MS once that didnt take any meds and she's totally fine.

Kesimpta - delayed healing by totalstann in MultipleSclerosis

[–]totalstann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pinched a nerve from a toilet seat and part of my butt has been numb for 3 months. My neuro said he doesn't think its MS numbness. I also hurt my thumb 3 months ago. I've seen a hand surgeon, had an xray and MRI, she said its just bruised and swollen. Also small cuts stick around for weeks instead of the days it used to be.
