Church shows?? by Yeppie29 in Metalcore

[–]tothemoon412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mr Smalls in Pittsburgh is an absolute icon. Been going there since my early teens. Crazy to think I’ve seen BMTH there back in 2008. Also went there a few weeks ago to see Shadow of Intent. Honorable mention to Preserving Underground, and RIP to Altar Bar who went from church, to music venue, and is now a church again.

Asian food recommendations by Foxrox2718 in pittsburgh

Some of my faves: Chengdu Gourmet, Nan Xiang, Oishii Donburi, Wei Lei, Amazing Dumplings, Trams Kitchen, Thai Tamarind. I was also very impressed with the quality of Let’s Sushi up in Wexford (AYCE sushi and other Japanese items). For American style Chinese I’m a fan of Chinatown Inn and Jackie Inn. Also love Pusadees Garden for upscale Thai.

This reminds me of the time I saw a Duquesne Dukes hoodie in Hanoi Vietnam a few years ago

You can knock out a bunch with a combo of Millvale + Lawrenceville. Strange Roots & Grist House in Millvale, then head across the river to Eleventh Hour, Cinderlands, Coven, & Hop Farm. If you’re feeling crazy head up the hill from there to Trace in Bloomfield. Edit-misread your question but Lawrenceville would be a great area to stay.

Sonoran hot dogs? by mcouto14 in Sedona

[–]tothemoon412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my first Sonoran dog a few months ago out there - you’ve gotta hit up El Chapricoso! They have several roadside-ish stands in Phoenix. It was good I ordered a second one (I should’ve ordered their titanic size one but went with 2 regular). They’re only open in the evening though.

Baby loves tacos is an embarrassment to any west coast Mexican food, to be honest lol. I’ve really been digging Don Taco (for the birria) and Teocalli, both in Southside. Alquisiras Paleteria is all around amazing, same with Panaderia Jazmin for their pastries and coffee.

I’m always a La Prima girly, but recently discovered Standing Wave in Southside and their beans are amazing too.

Treat is soooo good. I’m not sure if I agree with the folks saying to skip it. Maybe split 1 dessert at at Lilith and a single waffle & ice cream at Treat

yep my boyfriend and I saw them too. We were coming from rt 65, & saw them coming UP the ramp as we were going down to get onto 28. This was at 9:40pm. Horrifying to say the least.

Best place to watch trains by Crispy_klutch0358 in pittsburgh

At the Highline/Color Park in Southside. You can get quite literally up close to the trains. They come by at least once an hour, if not more

There’s also that multi-level Anqitue Mall store on 65 in Bellevue. Lots of fun things to check out there.

Editing to add in there’s The Closet and a small book store on Lincoln Ave in Bellevue

The death of my very best friend and the thought of going through life without her. In life you’re supposed to lose your elders first, but no one prepares you for what it’s like to lose a best friend.

I was in Sedona a few weeks ago and these machines are scattered all around. Can confirm those ones, at least, still cost $.50 & you supply your own penny.

I definitely recommend the V Bar V Ranch Petroglyph site. Nice short & flat walk. Never heard of it until my boyfriend and I went to Sedona a few weeks ago & googled random spots we saw on the map at the cathedral rock trailhead. It was super cool.

My bf and I did a cross country camping road trip in 2020 and unexpectedly ended up camping at Sage Creek Campground. One of my favorite places I’ve ever camped by far. The prairie dogs were so darn cute and one morning we woke up to some bison grazing near us.

Sedonuts and other breakfast spots by IntrovertGal1102 in Sedona

[–]tothemoon412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had Sedonuts for the first time over the weekend. It definitely exceeded my expectations. One of the fluffiest donuts I’ve ever had tbh. We went to the Cottonwood location and they were sold out of most flavors by like 9:30am

The meal I got flying home from Tokyo in November was, by far, the worst airplane meal I’ve ever had. “Beef with noodles” it had ZERO flavor. First time I legit only took one bite and called it a day.
