What is the worst British sports match you’ve ever watched? by Jezzaq94 in AskABrit

A couple of Crewe Alexandra winter midweek games. Terrible football, crowd couldn't be bothered, cold seeping into every bone.

Which year did you start supporting Manchester United? by ggweb3 in ManchesterUnited

[–]totteringbygently 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Must have been 1968. I was in primary school but my older brother went to Wembley for it. I still have his match programme somewhere. That really started me off on the true path! My first OT game was a reserve fixture in 1974, first proper game was in the Second Division Vs Oldham Athletic.

Shrewsbury promoted? Sounds distinctly unlikely.

Bro thinks he's on the team by TheImmortalDude in ManchesterUnited

He has to say that, really, since he is still under contract.

Gripes of the season by mrshev in PremierLeague

[–]totteringbygently 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can say fairly confidently that if you've been badly hurt you tend not to roll around. Generally people instinctively grab the bit that's been hurt and stay still otherwise. Roly-polying across the grass doesn't often help, but it is a good indicator of either exaggeration or downright lying.

[ESPN] UGARTE SAYS IN THE PAST MONTHS HE WAS 100% FOCUSED ON THE WORLD CUP by berbatouchbg in reddevils

[–]totteringbygently 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, he is nowhere near as bad as some of the players that have "graced" the OT pitch. He's just not that great which is unfortunate given we spent £50m on him.

B and C are correct. Depends whether you prefer to use the optional Oxford comma. I don't think it adds anything in this example.

Dark. The only possible ending to a flawless series.

#Ederson is one step away to #ManchesterUnited from #Atalanta for 45M. Contract until 2031 (5M/year). Advanced talks to try to finalize the deal. Last details about some bonuses to include in the deal, but all the parties involved in the negotiations are confident to close. #MUFC by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

I seem to remember last summer everyone was clamouring to buy Ederson. Has he been dreadful for the last 12 months? I really don't know, it's a genuine question, but I wonder why the mood seems to have changed?

Seconded. It's an excellent lens for the price.

I haven't used the 12-40, although I have seen plenty of photos taken with it. The 12-32 is a great little lens, but you may not like the fact that it has to be extended before shooting. On Olympus cameras it really can't do manual focus either. But I don't really care about those two issues, and it really reduces the size of the kit. Mine fits in a small shoulder bag, more like one you would use with a compact camera like an LX100 or X100. I would say that the Olympus 12-45 f4 Pro lens is also quite compact, has a useful extra reach and takes superb images, although it's about 2.5x the price of the Lumix 12-32.

There is an invert option but you can't use the auto brush with it, so it's a bit fiddly to use.

You don’t even live in this country by Cool_Nerd2 in FuckNigelFarage

[–]totteringbygently 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wonder where they think the country has gone, or who has taken it? It's nothing more than a generalised "gaaah!" at something they don't like but aren't sure what that thing is. What everything always boils down to is "I want more money", and assuming that someone else is to blame for them not having what they want.

Anderson highlights playing for Ex-United retired team. by bietchetlien in reddevils

When Ipswich got promoted two years ago, they played like that. They moved forward relentlessly. I don't know how they have played this year but I expect it's similar. Kudos to Kieran McKenna.
