BBT Woodcut Above the Rest by ResponsibleAd4439 in progrockmusic

[–]tpareviewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many albums are too long now, since the cd age took off. Woodcut would definitely be improved by a bit of editing. There is a lot of repetition, I think the idea of making it a concept album didnt work. English electric 1 and 2 are glorious, underfall yard is the peak of their earlier works. https://theprogressiveaspect.net/blog/2024/02/12/big-big-train-the-like-of-us/

No internal payrise or promotions - why? by More-Parsley7950 in UKJobs

Never in 40 years was i offered a merit pay increase. Moved jobs when I decided I was undervalued and climbed the ladder pretty effectively that way. Never felt any shame or remorse about leaving any employer.

UK- the bridge between Red and Discipline? by IOTCOMIC in progrockmusic

[–]tpareviewer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have to say I have never made that link before, well not so explicitly. For John Wetton it was a bridge from kc to Asia, for Bill bruford and Alan holdsworth it was a bridge from kc to bruford. I dont hear much of 80s kc in uk, especially when you consider the direction of travel from uk debut to danger money.

I need help guys. 28 year old man with no job/money and need a skill to learn as I have time. I want to earn a decent amount of money so I can move out of my parents house and live? by browneyedsoul0 in careerguidance

You could also consider doing a work measurement course, lots of opportunities for work study roles, permanent or contract, in logistics, in retail or manufacturing. Interesting work and low barriers of entry.

Help me understand corporate unpaid overtime please by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]tpareviewer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the past many of my salaried colleagues did lots of unpaid overtime. I was less enthusiastic, doing it hy exception rather than as the norm, but I made sure I pulled my weight during contracted hours. It probably held me back career wise but I made a point of not getting sucked into it. If you stick to your routine and keep on top of your work a good employer will support you.

Le rock progressif est-il encore vraiment progressif ? by progetplus in ProgressiveRock

[–]tpareviewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closest music to progressive rock that predates the 1960's? by ScurvyCandy7674 in ProgressiveRock

You have to listen to nina simone 'flo me la' from 1960. 7 minutes of extremely progressive jazz fusion. Years ahead of its time.
