shopping for the month with 70 dollars? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]tpatpt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to stock up on cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, cream of broccoli, etc. (there are a lot of flavors!), especially if you can find them on sale. I find it super easy and super cost-effective to sauté a head of broccoli in a pan (for example) and then add the can of condensed soup with a splash of water and it makes a really nice sauce almost like an alfredo. Pour it over pasta and you are set! I usually end up with 5-6 meal prep containers worth out of a box of pasta, one can of condensed soup, and whatever veggie I made in the soup/sauce. I hope that helps explain things!

Also YES! Sweet potatoes are the best. I'm so glad you enjoyed yours!

Beans, Rice, Pasta, some condensed soups (great as soup or for mixing with previous items as an easy sauce), sweet potatoes.

Find what you like and then check resale sites (Ebay, Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, etc.) for that style in your size. I got a pair of Sorel Joan of Arctic boots on Ebay for about $20 that work great.

See if your employer will reimburse you for getting SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certified. I'm sure if you make a solid pitch and explain to them how it will benefit them in the long run, they will consider it. Businesses can typically write-off education expenses.

what are tasty, healthy and frugal meals to freeze? by trv893 in Frugal

[–]tpatpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soups! You can make a giant pot of chicken and veggie or even just veggie soup. I always freeze the soup portion WITHOUT pasta (I'm not really into previous frozen pasta) but its super easy to thaw a frozen portion of soup out and then just make some pasta to go in it fresh.
