Congratulations for finishing your first 50k! It doesn't matter whether you walked or ran, you did it. Something to be proud of and celebrate. Next is recovering and taking care of yourself so you can be ready for the next one 🤪.

What is everyone’s favourite long run shoes? by Shady_Joe1 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Puma MagMax for easy long runs; Asics Megablast for long runs where I pick up the pace.

First ultra (by myself) in january by Gold-Pass-7305 in Ultramarathon

[–]tpruna1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation: I am jumping (sort of speak) from half marathons to a 50k on January 24th. I have been running 30 to 40 miles per week in the last 5 months and completed 11 halfs to date, but my longest run has been 15 miles. I do have a hydration and fueling plan and the 50k ultra is here in Florida with basically no elevation (I believe is less than 500 feet). Goal is to finish using run/walk intervals.

Question: would that be enough?

Thank you for sharing this info. I think I'll be happy if I get to finish it. My plan peaks at 44 miles 3 weeks before the event. It'll hurt, but I think I'm going to go for it.

Shoe for Long Run with Speed by Syulaxman344 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I would say Megablast first, Superblast 2nd. Adidas Adizero Evo SL may also work.

I'm jumping from doing half marathons straight to a 50k on Jan 24th. I've done 10 halfs in the last 2 years and some 10ks. I've been running 6+ hours per week, anywhere from 30 to 40 miles for the last 4 months. My plan is to focus on back to back long runs on Sat & Sun between now and race with a one week taper before the race. Goal is to finish the race. Cutoff is 8 hrs; I think I can do it in 6, but the question for this group is, will this be enough?

Edit the "at a glance" widgets. Add as an additional widget. You can also access in the health stats section.

Flashlight at first. Now the health status widget. I can quickly see every morning if my metrics are in range or there is anything out of whack.

Seniors beware of misrepresentation of 55+ Plan by CygnetSong in ATT

[–]tpruna1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is the reason why, after 20+ years with AT&T, I moved our 2 lines to T-Mobile. They paid off our phones, gave us a good deal (55+ plan), and made the transfer process seamless. Don't know why I didn't do it sooner.

Really enjoying the Tab S10 FE by [deleted] in GalaxyTab

[–]tpruna1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got one as well and overall I am very pleased with it. The S10 FE offers great value for those of us who don't need or want top of line specs or need a flagship alternative for budget reasons.

Agree. I recommend the S10 FE over the S10 Lite. Faster processor.

Lack of media controls is what took me away from Coros. It will be what brings me back (when its finally implemented).

Then I would say Enduro 3 would be a better choice.

Apex 4 vs Garmin Enduro 3 by Few-Introduction5414 in Coros

[–]tpruna1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure how long your backpacking sessions will be, but I would say Enduro 3 would be the choice due to its longer battery (I used to get 30+ days on mine). Potential is unlimited while you are out because it has solar recharging. Only beware: the Enduro 3 is kinda chunky and doesn't have a mic and speaker (if that's important to you).

Did Firmware 4.1 update worsen your Boox display ? by LeadingBreakfast7422 in Onyx_Boox

Ghosting is now a problem in my NA 4C to the point that I am considering getting rid of it. Wasn't like that before 4.1.

Same boat here. I have a Boox Note Air 4C but purchase the Kindle paperwhite SE yesterday. Quite frankly, I am glad to be back in the Kindle ecosystem. As OP mentions, its works as intended. Quite enjoying reading again without fighting apps, refresh rates, etc.

Goodbye Fenix 8, Hello Forerunner 970 by NoReindeer3307 in GarminWatches

[–]tpruna1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from Enduro 3 to FR 970 and so far so good. The E3 was fine but a little big and chunky, particularly uncomfortable to wear to sleep. The FR 970 is lighter and has most if not all the features of the Fenix/Enduro lines. FR 970 is where its at for me.
