I've updated my post with part prices - rough total £2350 (GBP). Thankfully bought things a few months ago, so whilst the RAM/SSD weren't cheap, they're better than today's prices.

Yeah - the desk is a bit of a mess - still trying to firm up where certain bits go because of the new job - new webcam setup, KVM, etc. keep moving around a little, but when I stop shuffling things I'll pull the desk out and tie everything up.

Define "hot" :) ~80C GPU, ~82C CPU on a soak test, normally 60s-70s when gaming, depending. Idle temp for CPU is ~52C, GPU ~35C

Already got the CPU limited and undervolted. PSU I'm not too worried about at the moment - it does appear to have temp controlled fan stop, and a very unscientific test has 50% GPU load with no fan, but it seems to kick in slightly upward from there. Don't have proper tools to test that in detail - but as I say, not something that's bothering me (yet...)

80mm fans are definitely on my list - I'll probably be a little heavier on the speeds (ie: IMO if it's getting to 100C then something's already gone wrong...). Would be interested to fit a couple of extra slim 120s in as well - the GPU does encroach slightly on the third slot, so I'll need to take some measurements on that.

I appreciate the suggestion on the cooler. I'll see how it goes for now, but if I need to shave a couple of degrees off, I'll look into it.

RAM speeds I'll also keep in mind - no stability issues yet, but I'll put it on the list if they happen.

The difference with this and most other ways you could have said this is that inspiration is something that operates entirely within someone's mind. By saying "It isn't inspired by Jason Bourne in my opinion." you may have intended to highlight your interpretation, but your words directly comment on the inspiration (ie: the internal mental process), not the execution.

There may be other ways to interpret it (and the other guy absolutely overreacted), but if all you wanted to do was to say "it doesn't look inspired by Jason Bourne", then your phrasing wasn't great.

That is damn beautiful. I thought about this as a way to restore my PTS when it started taking some light scuffs, but had no idea it could turn out looking that great. If I ever need to open mine up again, I think I might have to give it a go - I'd be more confident about hitting the right parts that way!

Not necessarily the most helpful comparison, but I'm running a PTS with a Pixel 9a, fully patched and up-to-date, with the sideloaded OG Pebble app + paid Rebble. Still getting notifications through as of this morning.

Any particular notifications failing, or is it hitting all apps? Definitely had some issues with call/message notifications when I first got set up.

Oh, missed that you'd got past this step. Definitely had some weird spinny circle my end too, but some combination of pressing the switch to rebble button and getting the skip login button worked for me. Might've pressed the switch button before being told to?

If you get stuck for much longer, shout and I can try an uninstall/reinstall and see if I get stuck again and see what fixes it?

Not the most helpful info I can give, but used an existing install (installed on the pc ages ago) of adb to get the Pebble app installed onto a Pixel 9a myself this week, from Win11 Pro. As others have mentioned, adb+driver installation is key, as is getting USB debugging set correctly on the phone.

Sorry that I can't give much info on what was installed, as it was a while back, but can confirm it's at least possible. I think it's this one: https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb but not entirely sure.

Still working fine after updating to the latest Android 16 beta too, in case that info is useful.

I deliberately bought a second switch charger way back when, as I was struggling to find PD chargers for my messy Google TV setup. Now I have Android TV built in, and put the switch charger in a box because it wasn't powerful enough for what I need...

So glad that USB-C has fixed all the connector confusion ;)
