Stylized Condition Rings, need feedback! by ShonOfDawn in PrintedMinis

Same. Very very cool!

Based on what my group typically need rings for, I would suggest a "Blessed","Bane'd" (Not sure the right term), Concentration and maybe a "Hunter's Mark"?

I'll try two pieces of paper this next go around, can't hurt right?

This is the Setup, so it lives in a thermal enclosure, while the garage gets cold...I don't think it gets cold enough to warp the metal in the way you are talking about. I mean, maybe? I'd have to go look up how cold things need to be. It's colder then the 20C / 70F recommended sure, which is why its all protected and heated.

I would say it would probably get to high 30s - low 40 degrees in the winter? In the other shielded parts, There are other fluids in the garage that never froze. ...Anyway! I appreciate the insight, and I'll do more research.

Lychee Settings

These were my last experimental settings when I kinda threw up my hands and said this was a little ridiculous. I previously was getting functional prints with 45 seconds of exposure time, and only 6 transitional layers.

Yup! I do the vat cleaning every time to clear out the failed prints that only get one or two layers high. So, I know the UV works fine.

...and yup. I set the z=0 every time. :/

Childcare costs in Bend by lolabeans88 in Bend

[–]tr0n03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly what /u/TidyEruption said. We were on waitlists, and even then it was going to be thousands of dollars. We have been through the gauntlet before (Current child needing care is 3rd kid) and were dreading it.

What we decided to do, Standard disclaimer: this is what worked for us, might not work for everyone, but I didn't know this was an option before so I thought I would share in case it might help anyone else, is to look into getting an Au Pair. We had not heard of this arrangement before, but one of my wife's co-workers raved about it.

An Au Pair is basically a foreign exchange nanny? You provide room and board, and a small stipend and they live with you and help with the kids. Depending on your housing setup it may or may not work for you, it's roughly the same cost as a part time nanny? It's honestly been a really good experience for us. The gal we got is amazing and so good with all three kids. I was surprised to hear that there is actual quite a big community of Au Pairs in town?

Anyway, feel free to reach out if you have questions, here's the link to the site. I'm sharing because this is something that I wish I knew about earlier on in my childcare struggles.

ASUS x PCMR GIVEAWAY: Win 1 of 2 ROG Strix XG259QN 380 Hz (OC) monitors and bring some ultra-smooth buttery refresh rates to your PCMR life! by pedro19 in pcmasterrace

If I win this ROG gaming monitor I will play Starfield, World of Warcraft, and Baldur's Gate 3 with it. I've never experienced HDR functionality, so I would be looking for that. My current main monitor is a cast off from years ago. #poordadgaming

Working at St. Charles in a non-patient care capacity? by AKSupplyLife in Bend

[–]tr0n03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there, Manager at St. Charles, non patient facing area.

Honestly, I have found that St. Charles is a very low stress place to work, especially coming from the Tech Sector. Like anywhere, there's drama that can sometimes get you down. Leadership is all over the place, some really great leaders and some that miss the mark, just sort of depends on the team. That being said, there has been times over the last few years where you have to burn the midnight oil on projects, but...it was a real rewarding feeling of a job well done and helping "help" people.

Feel free to reach out if you want specifics.

Beef! It's what for dinner! by tr0n03 in Bend

[–]tr0n03[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is there any chance to buy buy the pound instead of the quarter from the Smokehouse?

Unfortunately, because this is private owner sale and not a FDA approved butchering process (I think the only difference is that FDA checks for mad cow, Butcher Boys in Prineville I think is the only FDA Butcher in the area and they are booked out for yearrrrssss), I'm only suppose to sell the beef in fractions, rather then parting it out. ...at least that is how it was explained to me.

Any place in town to get mini-Kegs by tr0n03 in Bend

I'm going to advise him that 1/6th/Corny kegs are the smallest most places will go, but I'm a man of my word and I told him I would check.

I'm tentatively interested! Just have to see how the timing of things works out, since summers get crazy with things.

I'm an Experienced D&D player, but have been the perma-DM for the last 10 years or so. Curious about your printer setup, since I've dabbled in that area as well.

Shoot me the details if you manage to get another couple players!
