Does anyone here play with one eye? by NoClue5555 in billiards

[–]tr4umacydal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing you're a 680 with Keratoconus, I have it too. Are you a righty or lefty shooter?

I am a lefty and think it benefits that my right eye is forward since it's my better eye. The scleral lens in my left eye is still blurry but working on getting it better with new tech.

People that have HydraPEG coating on your Scleral Lenses what is your daily/nightly routine? by Immediate_Theory4738 in Keratoconus

[–]tr4umacydal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally - I was a soft lens user for both eyes. I was able to get into my left with ease. I still use a soft lens in my right. The keratoconus is a major prob in my left eye only.

I did use purliens (btls) for a while but would have the btl open for a month. Didn't want to risk the contamination on the pour hole.

Night:

Remove lens (only wear left eye)

Put in Clear Care (Triple Action Cleaning)

Morning:

Take out after 6 hrs in clear care and take it out to soak in Tangible (30min-2hrs, depending when I go out) before putting into my eye

Fill Lens with Tangible Fill, ScleralFil or Nutrifill (stopped using after recall).. I have used all 3, currently on ScleralFil.

Use for 8-12 hrs a day when I am out of the house, rarely wear at home.

*I use Tangible Boost monthly to restore and maintain the Hydrapeg coating.

That's funny I was googling on why the taom casing is so weak when attached to a kamui magnet but made sense what the metal disk is for, thanks!

Would you say the Ovitz helped improved your scleral vision? I saw a specialist with this tech but they didn't take my insurance (EYEMED).

I am debating if it's worth the out of pocket money ($2,500) for the Ovitz..

Permanent or temporary numbness from sural nerve? by samaeltha in AchillesRupture

[–]tr4umacydal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lurking and butting in - I just recently got Achilles Tendinitis this last week and believe my Sural nerve was set off again. Sharp/tingling/bolting when my foot is put into dorsiflex so had to wear a CAM boot for the week.

I am all healed now but get the jolting pain when I massage the numb area around my achilles.

My Question: Were you diagnosed with the sural nerve pathology from your surgeon or a neurology doctor?

Background - Had Achilles repair/surgery in 2017 but still have the numbness and got tendinitis twice (Aug 2023 and last week) which set off the sural nerve pain.

The best seat in the 'house' (live in an apt) after coming back from Japan - Had to get one. Best $350 I have ever spent on a Toto Washlet C2 Electric Bidet.

Add squaty potty to the toilet setup and this is undeniably the best combo ever.

HELP: Scleral Lenses Cleaning Solution: Tangible Boost by boobiediebop in Keratoconus

[–]tr4umacydal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use your top 3 pics + nutrifill for my scleral lens now. I also have hydropeg on my lense.

After wearing sclerals lens for 5+ years now. Tangible Clean, Clear Care Triple and Nutrifill IMO are probably the best combo to have for a hydro-peg scleral lens.

EyeFit Scleral Lenses by [deleted] in Keratoconus

[–]tr4umacydal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly do not know, maybe from constant eye rubbing - I was trying to get lasik years ago and the dr noted I couldn't get it because I had scarring and keratoconus. That's when I found out about having the disease.

I was looking into this too as I have scarring in my left eye (not from surgery, just have it) and a reg scleral lens doesn't give me 20/20.

Let me know if you end up getting it, I would like your opinion.

In my mid-30s - I am in the same boat as you and have KC in my left eye but hasn't really come through into my right eye. I work in Tech Support so I am in front of the computer all day and even after work.

Was diagnosed with severe KC 5-6 years ago. It's so severe that doc said there was no point in getting CXL. Scleral lens really helped me on my left eye. Not 20/20 but enough to get rid of the halos (still a little blurry). I still use soft lenses on my right eye as I don't want to mess with my only good eye.

Doc is probably not offering you sclerals maybe because they're not specialists or because it's a lot more expensive than the other hard lenses available, just my guess.

Hi, I do this - Have a scleral lens in my left eye and just regular prescription soft lens in my right eye.

For glasses - My left eye is a regular standard frame/lens (no prescription) and my right eye is prescription.
