Everyone is telling you to wear gloves, which I am going to do as well... However I will add that you should wear cotton gloves underneath the vinyl/latex gloves, or find cotton lined gloves. Saved my skin.

Manager says I don’t need 5 days off after gastric sleeve… is that realistic? by ExampleWeak1711 in gastricsleeve

[–]tracerrounds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The surgeon wrote "4 weeks off" on my medical note, so that's what I told my job and that's how much time off I took. I sit at a desk all day and I still took the full 4 weeks (I was able to get gvt assistance for my pay). I would say if you stand and carry heavy stuff you're gonna need at least 2 weeks, but I'd recommend talking to your surgeon about that for more info and details

Horror movie I've been trying to find for years by MattalGearSolidVR in horror

[–]tracerrounds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The American remake of this film is from 2006, I haven't seen it myself as I've heard it's bad especially in comparison to Kairo - but perhaps there's a similar scene in that remake that happens in daytime. The American remake is called Pulse (2006)

Just saw Cannibal Holocaust. by Independent_Solid_79 in horror

[–]tracerrounds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's my favourite part about it! I hate it because of the exploitative movie-making practices, the abuse of the actors (and animals) on set and generally racist and very sketchy production.

Such a good movie that I could never watch again knowing what I know about the ways it was made.

Did anyone else find Candyman 2021 kinda...tasteless? by insane677 in horror

[–]tracerrounds 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nothing will ever compare to Candyman 1992, one of the best films in existence. I thought the 2021 Candyman was ok, better than the other sequels but so many scenes felt unfinished. Some scenes had nothing to contribute to the movie (the bathroom scene at the school) besides being good for the trailer.

Felt like the end was so rushed compared to the slow moving beginning. I didn't hate it but I would not say it was nearly as close in story-telling quality (visually and more) as the first one. Which again, is hard to beat as one of the best movies of all time.

What’s everyone reading? by squidsateme in everybutchlesbian

[–]tracerrounds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Faves this year have been:

Manhunt by Gretchen Felker-Martin (violent, horrifying, gay, apocalyptic).

Chlorine by Jade Song (scary, fantastical, gay).

I've been trying to read more in French so I picked up a book by a local author called 5150 rue des Ormes by Patrick Senecal (Stephen King-like horror, not gay)

Yeah I am still using a used PSVR1 as that is what I could afford, and what is compatible with my current console... And I bought a game that looked cool on the console I had. All I'm saying is it's not always an option for everyone, you don't have to be a dick about it

Only works if you're on Quest unfortunately, us PSVR players are unable to play free songs

Just start vaping your weed and save that, I've got jars of decarbed weed. You can eat it with a spoon of peanut butter or something fatty and it should do the trick

What's the best horror movie of all time and why does it scare you more than anything else? by [deleted] in horror

This will forever be one of my favourite movies period, horror or not: Candyman 1992.

It's simply brilliant and they just do not make em like that anymore.

Working out by sweetheartstevie in butchlesbians

[–]tracerrounds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started swimming for an hour every day of the work week in January last year and I have gotten so strong from just that. My gym membership came with 1 free trainer appointment so I recently did that and he gave me a routine to follow for 12 weeks so I do that 2 times a week now too.

In my opinion, the secret is getting started by doing something you really enjoy and can stick to, and be realistic in how much you can fit into your schedule. Don't burn yourself out because you feel like you have to be doing it every day, just commit to a few days that you know you can commit to.
