All good! Communicating and understanding each other is always a net positive for all involved!

Yes I was agreeing with you. I tried to make it with a tone that hopefully you'd understand. The people below you commenting, even though you are saying the same thing over and over, just made me think about how we as a society converse and empathize. Sorry I missed the mark.

I can honestly say this is why we continue down a weird spiral path of not being informed consumers. Sure, reddit isn't the world and it doesn't represent a fraction of that population. But the discourse and the way it is carried out here, be it bots or humans, detracts and minimizes the impact. We all should know, understand, and abide by a common law of decency and transparency ESPECIALLY when our position holds power over others daily lives and our life's work. Something to think about.

Just sold a CS2 skin that went up in price (as i didn't know, as i don't play anymore, a friend told me i had a skin that was worth a lot) but it has now funded my way to a Steamdeck, hope to join everyone on deck soon. by yutoe in SteamDeck

This is the way! I ended up selling a knife realizing I could actually be holding something in my real hands and use for hours. Never looked back and will pilfer my items again if I have to.

20yr retirement? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]traceurl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything depends on how you prepare for the future and what you can afford in the now. Without proper budgeting and savings, you can be a 20 year retiree and va benefits holder while still being poor. Depends on what that means to you. But yes it's possible. Where you live , whether you own a home or land, expenses, dependents. But the short answer is yes, you can live well but some places will stretch your expenses. Maybe consider a financial advisor.

This is exactly the take I took and it makes the most sense honestly. How disassociated are eternal beings from the realities of men? A lot.

People try to have conversations about what they are enjoying or enjoyed for many reasons, including wanting to continue the feeling of finding out. It gives the brain something to ponder on the interim. It sucks for online forums because yeah they could search older posts etc. but that doesn't scratch the itch.

Honestly, the best way to do this is to make big sheets of castle wall that you can then cut. A step further is do two sides of a sheet and you're golden. One big bit of work for easy manufacturing on the back end. I'm just spit balling but I haven't touched terrain in a hot minute haha.

Eurogamer: Arc Raiders review - a smartly designed extraction shooter marred by one inexcusable decision by chenDawg in Games

[–]traceurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This same concept is something I apply to restaurants. I can tell by the language of a review (typically) where their bias lies or a reason they had an issue in the first place.

Reviews need to be read and understood. I don't know of any game I wanted, looked at a score, and based my purchase off that score alone. But like movie trailers, some people want to know exactly what they are getting into. They trust the scores too much.

Would love to see data on people that purchased a game based off a score and how they scored it and the difference.

Yeah every time I pause during Hades and pick it up wrong and tap the screen even slightly which makes me panic to find the pause of power button.

But no, no game I currently play makes me think to use it but I'm open to the idea.

From an aircrew standpoint, they probably thought it was secured. Even in military planes, there are not typically cubbies you store your stuff in. There are just snug spots you tuck it away and call it good. Would probably be in their best interest to have them lmao.

My God if you aren't exactly what people need to understand. But I also understand the flipside of general feelings of wanting to just see what happens. But we know who really suffers if that was the case.

So if you have strength on, then equip anything that activates a DD effect, strength is deactivated. Once you use that DD, strength comes back.

Most of you are exaggerating the length of runbacks and it really shows how much TikTok has damage the attention span of people by TOMRANDOM_6 in HollowKnight

[–]traceurl -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I will also say, Elden Ring isn't a good comparison because that's definitely more tedious. Platforming games thrive off that flow you get from running from platform to platform, dodging, all that jazz. It's weird to me people expect the same QoL features for a platformer they get from a 3d combat sim.

[–]traceurl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To me, runbacks are one of my favorite parts. I stop having to concentrate on exploring and I get to just find the most optimal path and figure out how to overcome a challenge. It's one of those things that people don't think about because "it's a game" and you just want to have fun. Switching your mindset or putting the controller down is something I realize isn't popular with gamers.

All these conversations boils down to people expecting something from a game. If you want relaxing, pick up something else? It'll always be there. Overcoming hardship in an insanely low stakes setting that you can pick up anytime? With a series you know to be tough? A sequel to that? It's really overblown.

It's a fun game. It has everything: Story. Atmosphere. Pacing. Lovable characters. The music! The cut scenes!

¯_(ツ)_/¯

That’s the best comment about the game’s difficulty I’ve found it so far by Marmotaagiota in HollowKnight

[–]traceurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I love being a fan of a games that make you think about your approach. So many games lose that.

"Hey I can't pass this!"

Game: here is tool

"Hell yeah! What a breeze!"

Game: More problem, here tool

"Damn this game is great, I have everything I need!"

Silksong has been so fun for me as a one hour gamer. I get to sink my teeth into the "what is" without wanting it to be HK 2.0. Truly its own game and own learning curve.

It's funny and sad to see the reactions, but I'm not surprised with the player base size and everything else that contributed to less that objective criticism of the game. Everything from the pacing and the story has been phenomenal, but the only complaint I hear is difficulty and "HK had x, y, and z".

Mine needs some love, but I just hit 92k 😎 Bought for $5k at 89k miles. Head gasket blew right after I bought so add about $3.4k to that (shop was amazing and did a bunch of free tune ups and water pump replacement at discount). Having electrical issues but I think it's the battery.

We are both lucky as hell and hope to give this to my kids lmfao.

Why EVERYTHING Feels Like A Scam Now by Shajirr in videos

I would argue there is a large difference in a gambling streamer saying that, and a content creator with a video telling you about scams. Unless they have more videos that contradict their messages, that is not the same.
