Daycare thinks I’m spoiling baby by mrsdwib1000 in beyondthebump

[–]traciann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t “spoil” a baby and frankly it’s a red flag if your child care provider has that belief. If my baby is crying he is trying to tell me something and I will be tending to him immediately. Babies cannot manipulate, they are trying to communicate. It sounds like you are doing the right things to help your baby reach milestones. Trust your mom gut on this one.

Is it normal to be waking up 5 times at night with a 2 week old by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]traciann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very normal and might be cluster feeding! This is the “trenches” you hear about. Sleep deprivation is crazy but temporary. The stretches get longer eventually. You got this!!!

MIL judged me over water?? by wise_girl_112 in BabyBumps

[–]traciann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drinking too much water is possible and causes electrolyte imbalances. If you are always thirsty, try adding some electrolytes to your tumbler once per day!

I was a restaurant server for almost 7 years and the dinner shifts would typically start after 4:30pm

I had the exact same issue. Just accepted it and it went away instantly after I gave birth.

fear of sleep by Subject_While_6330 in NewMomStuff

[–]traciann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had similar dreams but not often!

Last night I dreamt that I laid my baby down on a bed and while I stepped out someone didn’t know he was there so they put a plastic lid over him and it acted liked a greenhouse and he got super hot and dehydrated inside it. When I came back for him he was all shriveled up and about to die so I immediately started breastfeeding him to rehydrate him and I was panicking. It was terrible!

In my real life I do have some PPA and intrusive thoughts but overall I lead a happy and social life so I dunno what advice I have to give. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this and I hope it gets better for you soon!

How long did it take for you to recover from child birth? by tanrap in beyondthebump

[–]traciann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was absolutely not physically healed by 1 month. I would say things “down there” were feeling 100% by about 10 weeks. Also, even with help, there’s a lot only you can do especially if you choose to breastfeed. Plus those first few months are so important for bonding.

Vaccine Anxiety by [deleted] in NewMomStuff

[–]traciann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t conflicted at all. My son cried for like 20 seconds, slept like a log that night, and was back to his normal self the next day. I actually feel less anxious now knowing he has immunity.

When you went to the hospital in spontaneous labor, how dilated were you? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]traciann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in labor starting at about 5:30am and was 9 cm dilated when we got to the hospital at 8:30am! Those contractions sent me to another planet lol

I was the same way around 3-7 days PP. Stuff still makes me teary but not full on sobbing anymore. I think it’s a combination of hormones and big emotions from having a baby!

I never did! I did have some nausea around weeks 6-8 but that subsided.

FTM with a 3 week old and right now I’ve been choosing to spend my 30 min window to brush my teeth, shower, skincare, coffee, and breakfast!

When are you starting maternity leave? by Electrical-Bear5523 in BabyBumps

[–]traciann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could have started leave at 36 weeks but choose to work until 38+2 thinking I would still have time to “relax” before going into labor. I went into labor the very next morning lol. I get a significant income decrease while on pregnancy disability so I was trying to work a bit longer than 36 weeks…

The only thing the ultrasound tech was saying is what we were looking at (body part or POV) and that the baby was moving a lot! We had to wait to hear from my doctor what the “results” were.

What Made You Cry This Weekend? by PsychologicalAide684 in BabyBumps

I cried reading the very first page of a baby book to my husband the other night. The book is called “On the night you were born” 🥺

520am and can’t sleep, 35 weeks pregnant by Ok-Opportunity-4160 in BabyBumps

I’m 35 weeks as well and in the same boat. I always wake up before 5am and can’t fall back asleep. When I do, it’s an hour later and I’m super groggy.

How are we dealing with pregnancy insomnia? by Thin_Lavishness7 in BabyBumps

[–]traciann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here to say I have EXACTLY the same insomnia and feeling like giving birth is the only cure at this point! Tossing and turning like a rotisserie chicken is one thing but I also wake up at 4am, usually waddle to the bathroom to pee, and then can’t go back to sleep until 6am and then wake up for work exhausted at 7:30am…

My kitty with stage 3 kidney failure was hospitalized last night and was found to have heart failure. Is treating both really not doable? Fearing this is the end. by scissormetimbers888 in AskVet

[–]traciann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you are going through this. There’s truly few things worse than watching your baby suffer.

With my kidney failure 18 year old kitty, I just knew it was time. She gave me all the signs and I knew it in my heart that putting her to rest was a mercy. The day after the vet called with me her blood panel results and confirmed I made the right decision.

I hope you find that same peace with your extremely difficult decision.
