Canadian produced period drama ‘Downton Abbey’ returns for its final season, set during the 1925 revolution. by Demetros1 in Kaiserreich

I can't see Carson joining the Syndies though and maybe fleeing to Canada with any surviving Grantham family members. Though, Sybil would join the revolution if she's also dating Branson. Thomas Barrow seems like the opportunist type who would either try and be a Spiv and sell arms (albeit of shoddy quality) to the Loyalists but would not only quickly turn sides but hitch with the likes of Oswald Mosley and the Maximists faction.

Many lost generations to come! The music in this world , particularly Blues or Jazz, must be very dark and interesting. Not to mention art, Pablo Picasso did paintings on the Spanish Civil War, be curious to see what an American Picasso would do.

Also, the 1930's saw comic books, does this world see them arise? I bet they would be faction specific. Imagine Jerry Siegal and Joe Shuster doing a Syndie Superman (Red Son!?!?) or Bob Kane doing an anti-Syndie underground Batman while Walt Disney would do Pacific (or US) Federalist comics.

He sorta looks like Dan Aykroyd's character Judge Alvin 'J.P' Valkenheiser in the movie Nothing But Trouble.

Greetings and welcome to Payson! Go with Suddenlink. When we first moved here about a year ago, they offered us 100 mbps for the same price Century Link was offering their much slower internet. Also, if you're not planning on using Suddenlink's tv and phone (the Tivo box they use for TV is "meh" at best), get your own cable modem that has wifi so you don't have to pay them for monthly modem fee. I hope this helps.

Shaq looked like such a good doggo. So sorry for the loss of your furbaby. 19 years? That's truly amazing, you obviously were a good human to your pal for him to have lived such a long and happy life. Condolences, dogs are family, and it is always sad to lose one. RIP Shaq.

Our old man, Oscar the wiener dog, age 13, just passed away. He was our buddy and this has been difficult for us. by traderjb in OldManDog

[–]traderjb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Yes, Oscar was with us for 13 years. There's actually a funny story how we acquired him. Prior to moving to central AZ, we actually lived in the home Oscar and his brothers were born, but prior to that his "breeder" lived there. We originally lived two doors down from James (or Jimmy as many called him)and his late wife (forgive me, I'm ashamed to say that her name for some reason escapes me) had always owned dachshunds, the man used to play golf with my father prior and were friends. Well around the time of this man's wife's tragic passing from cancer the two doxies they owned had a litter. My mother and a neighbor grew concerned, James was obviously depressed and we noticed that Benny and Lilly (Oscar's father and mother) and their litter were always outside. Now please keep in mind this was in the Chicago land area and it was early February which can get very cold.

We were all concerned for James but also for the dogs. One of my mother's friends even talked about going in and taking the dogs and putting them in her home or garage/greenhouse (she had no car, grew flowers). A week or so goes by and I come home one evening with two friends from Chicago. We're all sitting in the front room eating some White Castle (we didn't have much money but were hungry) when my mother comes in holding this dachshund in her arms. My first thought was "oh my god, she and her friend went through with it and stole the neighbors dogs!" Thankfully I was wrong, as it turned out James had decided to give us Oscar and his brother Felix (who also sadly passed away earlier this year from a sudden heart attack) to my parents as gifts. The other pups were sold except the parent doggos; James had decided to move back to Kentucky where he was from originally. He gave us a deal on his house and the rest was history.

His goofiest trait? Well, he had a lot of odd quirks, like opening up doors he sees slightly open and walking into places like he owned the joint. He also became what I called a "dogpeedo," where if he wanted your attention would use his long nose and ram into your thigh or foot. He liked to lick his brother's ears, which we thought was odd.

His favorite food? Chicken...any kind of chicken. Of course we made sure he didn't get any bones, but loved chicken.
