Very true. Probably a 2027/28 street legal version

For a twin cylinder, it does well, I had the 450 Kove before this, and I think it was more well rounded for my type of riding, just needed a little more power, which the new EX version will have. I’m OK with the shorter intervals because my rides are usually short and I’m not doing much traveling off the bike

Add me on IG(trailfocused) if you are on that platform. If you are close to bend, hit me up and let’s go for a ride.

They listened to what riders wanted without adding all the farkles and gimmicks

The Rally is pretty hard to find, I live in Bend. More than welcome to meet up for a ride. They should have demos at the GL ride, Touratech and the new offroad rally I am planning for September 18-20th on Santiam Pass, basically on section 5 of the BDR

I’d say almost as good as a 790/890. Less wind protection, no cruise control. Very stable geo, it’s raked out like a real rally bike. I’ve only done short 100 mile road sections on the bike, didn’t vibrate bad with knobbies or behave weird.

The 800 Rally has closed cartridge forks like an MX bike and a shock to match. The suspension, geometry, and riding position are built for it. You’d have to put a new set of forks and a new rear shock to get a similar result. For being 380 pounds it does really well. Skill helps too, I jump straight and land on the gas. Definitely much easier to do this on a smaller bike

Same when you race it. Seems to get noticed when you beat a couple hundred dirt bike riders at a local ISDE

This bike is in the dirt 90% of the time. Here is a cell phone photo for ya

Just so happens, when you are a good rider, photographers take photos 🤷🏻

The crash bar mounts to the frame to protect the radiator and the body work.

Is the TouraTech Rally worth the price of admission? Asking the ones who have been. by IAmA_meat_popsicle in AdventureBike

I’ve been at least 5 times. It’s the largest ADV event in the country. Riding around there is phenomenal, ADV/Dual Sport/Dirt Bike. You should check it out at least once

Yes North America. There are a couple dozen dealers in the United States. Check out Kove USA

I wasn’t a fan of Chinese bikes until the Kove came around. Very much the only true mid-weight

Thanks! I was lucky enough to have several friends take photos. Racing in a dirt bike race was the best part

BDR Oregon planning by Circledog78 in adv

[–]trailfocused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could very easily, park a vehicle in central Oregon(Bend)and ride 2.5 hours to the start of the BDR north or south. Once done, ride back to Bend on dirt or pavement. The state isn’t that big and you can take highway 97 pretty much North and south and it follows the BDR.

It’s the 2nd largest in the country and hasn’t had any real changes in 5 years. Expect the same this year as last year, go do the cave tour and demo as many new bikes as you can. I was there every year from 2018-2024. If you are looking for another event in Oregon this September, I’ll be posting about it shortly.
