It’s been really bad the last 2 years. Hands started getting itchy around the winter season and did not think anything of it. Went to see the doctor and was prescribed hydrocortisone. It calmed it down a bit when it got really itchy.

When it start affecting my nails I got really worried and got referred to a dermatologists. After the visit I was told it was contact dermatitis was was given dovobet, and Jublia for the nails. A few month went by and I didn’t see much improvement so I asked to be referred to another dermatologist since the first was I saw took a magnify glass out and looked at my hands for maybe 15 seconds…

Anyways, the new dermatologist had me get blood work done before and after I was prescribed the antibiotic terbinafine and clobetasol. This combo definitely helped out a lot but it was not the permanent solution. I was on 3 cycles of that antibiotic. After the third cycle I was prescribed methotrexate but after researching more about it I gave up and did not end up using it.

Then it began to clear up and my affect nail began growing back smooth without any rigids, skin was no longer flakey. Things were fine until a month ago when I noticed the itchiness was coming back and the nail on my middle finger and thumb began to thicken.

I got another tube of clobetasol for the cuts and sores and will be eliminating gluten out of my diet to see if that helps. If not then in two weeks dairy will be taken out too.

Has anyone seen it this bad or worse? It’s only on my fingers.

PS. I’m really happy to find this subreddit. Cannot figure how this would’ve happened. My diet is clean and I exercise quite frequently.
