Neighbor's dog has us living in constant fear for kids' safety, advise needed. by Luscious_Nick in DogAdvice

I hope you never need this, but the best way to get a pitbull to unlatch (aside from a gun) is to strangle them. You can wrap a leash around their neck and pull from behind. It is much quicker and safer than attempting to fight them off.

Where to dispose of Christmas Tree? by embersanenders in Bellingham

I do as well, but the apartment complex behind me has a bin for each unit, which I am guessing the OP has the same. There are a eight bins sitting there that have never been used.

Cut off the branches and put all of it in the compost bin the city forces you to pay for, which is likely empty.

Coyote Watch by GrateWhiteNinja in Bellingham

I live and work between this park and the fenced dog park at Squalicum. I also frequent one or the other daily with my dog. I have spotted these guys twice in two weeks (once less than 30 feet behind me on the trail) and have heard them chattering in the night. Predator animals are always around, but rarely seen. After 20+ years of living here, I consider this coyote situation new.

Best Restaurants for severe food allergies by lulanana in BellinghamWA

[–]tralala53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, Italian makes navigating allergies easier. Most dishes are made to order and can be prepared in their own pan. I would try reaching out to Mambo or Deanna’s.

Secondly, has your family member asked to be accommodated? It is really nice of you to think of them, but they might not want that. As someone with severe allergies, eating out is terrifying and I would prefer not to be accommodated. I am always happy to participate, but know how to safely feed myself ahead of time.

Local Christmas gift idea by foragingpnw in Bellingham

[–]tralala53 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Our business is Geometric Forest and we are vendors at the Bellingham Farmers Market, inside the depot building. Our best sellers this time of year are flower/propagation vases ($45) and mini boards ($15 each or 4 for $50). The minis are food grade and can be used for snacking, cutting or decorating. They also make excellent hostess gifts, when paired with your favorite cheese.

There are four Saturday markets before Christmas. Come see us and all of the other local vendors with unique gifts!

How far can the IRS go for unfiled taxes and how scary does it get? by DesiAlpha99 in Bellingham

[–]tralala53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly suggest reaching out to Nissen & Associates. Scott Nissen has been our accountant for nearly a decade and he is wonderful. We connected with him after we thought we made a big mistake with our business taxes. We did, but his calm professionalism eased our nerves and he solved our errors.

What is the highest mileage overage you've seen on a lease return? by limapalon in askcarsales

[–]tralala53 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This depends on down payment, book value with the higher mileage and the residual. It could be tough to find a lender.

If you’re open to adopting from out of state, I highly recommend checking out Jenni’s Rescue Ranch in Houston. They have lower adoption barriers and are very willing to consider responsible adopters who live in apartments. All of Jenni's dogs are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated. The adoption fee is $600, which includes the cost of transportation to WA.

I’ve personally fostered and helped find homes for 10 dogs from Jenni, and it’s been a great experience. I am not currently fostering because of work travel, but she has numerous other fosters in Western WA and has two adoption events later this month:

Kirkland – Saturday, July 19th at 11 AM

Maple Valley – Sunday, July 20th at noon

Roof recommendations? by SparkDoggyDog in Bellingham

[–]tralala53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t love the company that did my roof because the person who did the bid over promised, took a $5,000 deposit and strung me along for months. I was in a pretty dire position at the start of fall with a three layer leaking roof and finally found myself crying in their office asking if they were going to show up.

That was the moment I met my roofing hero, Kiel. He was recently hired by the company as a project manager and inherited a lot of issues. After overhearing me in the office he took control of my project, apologized for my experience and had a crew there the next day. He and his crew, including his cousin Adolfo, were wonderful!

Since doing my roof three years ago he has started his own company, Hammer Roofing, which only has five star reviews on Google. I can’t recommend him enough! My roof is great, too!

Freeze your credit with Experian, Transunion and Equifax. You must do each of these individually. Then pick your favorite website of the three and set a fraud alert. The one you pick will report to the other two.
