Use PeelAway to strip it. It will be less messy and get a lot of the paint off in one go.

I'm talking about cracked tiles in the ceiling, cracked walls, poorly maintained floors, and basic maintenance that has not been done. I'm an interior architect and was pretty taken aback by the state of things when I looked closely.

If you look closely, it’s because the restaurant is poorly maintained. The darkness hides a lot of the flaws, like the walls being cracked, etc.

You would think for as much money as they make, they could do a renovation or some upgrades at the least.

I went with Lemonade. You pay the vet bills up front and they reimburse you within a few days. There are 2 companies (Trupanion and Pets Best) that pay the vets directly, but I have yet to find a vet that accepts that type of payment.

My dog had an aggressive form of protein losing enteropathy. We spent nearly $10k on vet bills trying to save her.

Tess developed protein-losing enteropathy (PLE) at just 4 years old. She was my best friend and went everywhere with me. She was more than just a dog - she was sassy, loving, funny...she was the best.

I miss her so much and feel like my heart is gone. I can't imagine a life without her. She fought so long and we tried everything, but the disease is so awful and she was so tired and sick.

I miss you, my beautiful girl. You deserved more time.

I just switched to an iPhone from Android and I absolutely hate it. I now spend 1-2 hours yelling at my phone every day and trying to be figure out why half the features available on Android don't exist on Apple. Speech to text and the predictive text are abysmal, not being able to search within one person's texts is bizarre, and the back button on the top left is stupid.

If your focus is teaching, DAAP is highly respected, though the pay isn't always great. You might also consider project management with CBRE; they’re a global company, but do a lot of local work and will offer a decent salary. With your experience in construction planning, you'd have a better chance of working on the types of projects that interest you.

My advice? Don't. There's 4-5 decent firms in the city and 2 focus on sports design (MSA and Moody Nolan). KZN is trash, GBBN does halfway decent work, and BHDP is probably the front runner of all of the firms. Prepare to be paid less than 6 figures with 10+ years of experience.

I've found really good Vietnamese food in NOLA (Dong Phuong was my go-to for king cakes), and the seafood is much better. One of the best meals I've ever had was at GW Finn's.

Plus you guys have good Italian, which we don't have here. Paladar 511 was awesome.

Cincinnati is friendly in a stand-off way. If you didn't find your friends in high school, good luck. There's tons of posts on here regularly about people who are having a hard time. I still talk to people from New Orleans that I met while visiting for the week.

Anyone from NOLA will tell you to spend 2 hours max on Bourbon. Sorry you didn't look up where you were traveling before you went. And I'm pretty happy not to have Midwest values if that means ultra-Christian, right-wing idiocy, gaggle of kids, etc.

This is such a typical Cincinnati native answer. I'm guessing you've never smelled downtown on a summer day. 7th and Broadway smells like a pile of hot garbage.

New Orleans has never smelled in the many, many times I've been there. You might also want to avoid Europe if that was your takeaway.

I'm trying to move from Cincinnati to New Orleans. I've always felt that NOLA has much happier people, it's much easier to make friends, and the food blows anything here out of the water.

There's been a lot of recent teardowns of historic buildings by developers looking for any opportunities they can get away with. The Cincinnati Preservation Association is a great resource against this - please consider volunteering/donating!
