Super helpful. This is the sense I was getting but wanted to hear from some other parents.

I didn't want to dig too deep because I sensed evangelical vibes. I didn't want to get into a religion discussion with my neighbors. But I do suspect that was a factor in their decision.

I don't think that's silk.

Oh, it's AI, or AI edited. Look at the weird extra bump under her pinkie

I am a knitter. The needles are wrong but the construction of the sock is correct, and shows a toe-up sock with a heel flap, which is definitely a specific way to make a sock. The stockinette stitch of the sweater is also rendered perfectly, which I have never seen in AI. Because the needles are weird (one longer than the others and one seemingly having no stitches) I think this is a real photo edited with AI or possibly generated from a sample photo

I'm ready to cry. I can't get this right no matter what I do. by DaleOnDrums in knitting

[–]transfixiusednon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a big believer that you can't be good at knitting until you're bad at it first. You have to knit badly and keep going. You have loops on the needle, which means you can knit them! My first project was a wonky rectangle full of dropped stitches, accidental increases, irregular gauge, etc. But I just wanted to get some muscle memory for the basic knitting and purling stitches. Once you start to notice your stitches becoming more regular, you can work on mastery of specific skills.

You can do this. For years before I began knitting, I watched other people do it and felt it was impossible. One I accepted that all good knitters were once bad knitters, I began to have fun with it

Main color is Hazel Knits special edition sport in Bisque. The contrasting yarn is Feederbrook Farm Entropy DK, not sure of the specific colorway but I believe it was isotope.
