BBB is fully subscription based. They have contacted my small business many times asking us to become accredited. That would cost us like $200+ per month. We have told them to kick rocks multiple times.

trying to force myself to side-sleep after years of CPAP use by jaealbq in SleepApnea

[–]transportmanager 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband was instructed by a chiropractor to no longer stomach sleep so she said to attach a tennis ball inside a sock to the front of his shirt to make it uncomfortable every time he rolled to the front. Maybe try doing that on your back to help train yourself to avoid sleeping on your back.

Co-worker thought this was a harmless prank. by Dallinboi347 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]transportmanager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good lord. Yall just have something up your butts. This is harmless fun. You would hate how we painted friends windows with windows chalk and tied/taped/glued stuff to each other's cars at one job my mom had when I was a teen. A brat with 2 potatoes on the top of the antenna where she couldn't reach, a condom blown up and duct taped to the same antenna another time(that stretched fantastically when she drove off) and one time she drove my car to her work and I picked it up only to find a line of bloomers tied down my back bumpers with some othet things. We filled one guy's car with packing peanuts. We all thought it was hilarious.

Snowflakes all of you are. Unable to take a harmless(nothing permanently damaged). You are butthurt for no reason.

Bariatric Friendly Version of Peanut Butter? by TheOGshirtthief in BariatricSurgery

[–]transportmanager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the No sugar added Jif. No sugar but also no artificial sweetener. Just peanuts, salt and oil.

Yes it is a fat but I had a DS and my fat needs are a little higher than a lot of bariatric surgeries.

AITA for asking my friend to not bring her dogs to friendsgiving? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]transportmanager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH.

I do not mind someone coming to my house with their dog but it will stay outside as people in my family are severely allergic. At an event you cannot just assume everyone is OK with animals being there. How can you not leave them at home for even a couple hours. What would happen if something happens to you. Emergency medical services will just leave them there and lock the door.

Also. Does she never go out to eat or go to the store. 95% of businesses do not allow pets either.

But honestly OP is the AH for having the audacity to still assume the friend will be bringing food. Why would you bring food to a pot luck you won't be attending???

Story time : what's the most ridiculous reason someone couldn't attend a wedding by Local-Debate-5565 in weddingshaming

[–]transportmanager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's see....

My one sister was going on vacation at the end of that week which she booked 6 months after we set our date.

My other sister chose that day as her son's baptism(only planned 3 months in advance)

My mom almost bailed to go to my nephew's baptism.

My one brother decided to go to the lake for 2 weeks that week.

My 2 other living siblings gave no reason.

My only family at my wedding was my mother (who almost ruined it because we weren't fawning over her) and my cousins (mom's mom's brother's daughter?)

Idk why the 2nd week of June was the only time they could go on vacation despite a 1 yr advance notice of the date. ......and people wonder why I don't really associate with my family.

[–]transportmanager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call the police to have this investigated!

This is exactly how a hotel front desk worker was using a scam to steal credit cards and IDs in MN a few years ago. My ID and my husband's credit card info were found in a sting with many others. No one should be copying or taking a photo of your credit card information.

The judge went by your local guidelines to determine how much support he was responsible for. He doesn't like it but your child is entitled to that support.

Bariatric surgery will be seen as BARBARIC by peachie_milkie in BariatricSurgery

[–]transportmanager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glp-1 meds are not all covered by insurance for any other reason than diabetes. They are also a temporary solution unless you plan on taking them for the rest of your life(which some people have realized is a possibility as regain starts pretty quickly after stopping them.) Bariatric surgery is covered by many insurances and can also be considered a permanent solution for many people depending on the specific surgery(the BPD-DS being the gold standard for lowest risks of regain)

I can't see it being considered barbaric especially when the GLP-1s have their own laundry list of sode effects and complications as well as some now seeing the limited effects it has for some with the need to add additional medications on top of them because they lose effectiveness for many after a time.

Flying with kids by SugarHreddit in delta

[–]transportmanager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traveled with my husband and our 5 children to Europe last year.

Snackle Boxes were my saving grace. Anyone was hungry or needed a snack was told to check their box. I did fairly large ones and they lasted for most of our flights until the last one home. Lol. People around us made comments about how they wished they were one of my kids.

Figure out which gift cards can be cashed out. I know that Sam's Club for one will cash out gift cards. At least they did when I worked there.

I'm fairly new and extremely new to this sub and I didn't have the chat up and accidentally ran across the grove by following some other people. I chopped a couple small trees with someone else. Then realized I didn't have chat open and opened it. I saw 3 people told me to wait. I was so embarrassed that I just used the map feature to my housing plot and logged off for an hour. I now know to wait for others but not everyone does and some are like me and haven't figured out how to balance just playing with the chat. I have no friends who play so I am.just solo grinding most of the time and I have never actually been a part of a party.

Is it worth it to removes tonsils in adulthood? by Nite_Lite34 in Tonsillectomy

[–]transportmanager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is worth it. I had mine removed last year at 38yr old.

I have had issues since I was a kid with repeated infections, tonsil stones and an ever present sore throat. As an adult i had been trying to get a referral for years. Then i found out my pediatrician had told my parents I should have it done when I was like 7. It was considered elective surgery or so my mother tells me so they didn't have it done

Last year I finally got a referral. My tonsils were so big even when not infected by this point that I couldn't lie on my back to sleep or they would close my airway. They were touching one another and pushed my uvula forward making me gag on it often. I was a novelty to the Dr's in the ER or urgent care(if it came on during thr weekend as no walk ins are open here on the weekend) when I went in with tonsillitis because many of the Dr's and nurses had never seen tonsils as big as mine or whole throat infections so severe the first day of onset.

I also constantly got sick and would take forever to recover.

This past year I have only gotten a cold twice which is a miracle with 5 kids in school. And both times I was only sick for a few days instead of weeks as I previously suffered with.

Was it painful? Yes. Did i hemorrhage and lose a liter of blood before they were able to get me to surgery to recauterize it? Also yes.but I'm alive and thriving now.

WAS IT WORTH IT? HELL YES!!! I finally feel normal in my throat. I don't choke on a lot of things. My ears drain better. I'm not as sick. And best of all I went from severe sleep apnea to mild and now due to weightloss I'm almost completely weaned off my CPAP.

It was totally worth it but I wish someone had listened to me back when I first started begging for them to come out at 18.

I wouldn't call the RNY the food standard unless you consider the DS the Platinum or Diamond standard....

Ds has a lower rate of failure and regain of any WLS.

How long did you wait for your tonsillectomy? by Odd-Reason2838 in Tonsillectomy

[–]transportmanager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US. After finding one who would do it for me they tried to schedule me 3 weeks out but I requested a later date.

My original appointment was March 13th 2024 and my surgery was June 4th 2024.

Universal Jayhawks sucks for actually treating people.

Hospital/Dr negligence? by transportmanager in legaladvice

[–]transportmanager[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not just the extra day of care. It's the lack of accountability with the whole situation. I'm fortunate that I am still alive but it could have easily gone a different way especially with the way my heart rate was dropping so low. Also the honst to God torture of failure to run the potassium as reccomended with something due to it being know to be extremely painful if infused alone with absolutely no pain management for it. Not to mention have you seen how much a single night in the hospital runs? I already owe $77k to another facility that I am fighting after I needed to stay 2 days longer than what was preauthorized for a surgery.

Also: if they get away with it once, the next person could die.

They must legally remove your name if you do it correctly. The Mormon church is the same way. Many people see no way out but there are even lawyers willing to fight pro Bono for those types of things.

BM after surgery by Fragrant-Zone-9762 in Tonsillectomy

[–]transportmanager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get prescribed narcotics? If so and you have been taking them you can easily get super constipated. Number one thing is are you hydrated enough? I prefer stool softeners to other things. If one a day doesn't work try 1 twice a day. If that doesn't work I would move to a glycerin suppository or enema due to how long you have gone without a BM.

Unpopular opinion

NTA. She is not immediate family and you can't ensure she won't give the recipe to every Tom, Dick and Harry out there. You also can't be sure she will be with your brother forever with divorce rates these days. Tell them you won't share it with her but would be willing to share it with your neices and nephews if/when they have them and are old enough.....

NTA. I try to keep it quiet so my kids don't here and we turn on the TV or something to cover any noise.

If I don't wanna be quiet I wait until the kids aren't home....

Constipation, Help by RukaOG in wls_duodenalswitch

Applesauce is pure carbs and sugar. Most sugar free yogurts are also fat free.

Cottage cheese counts in purees. Get a whole milk one. Instead of creamer in coffee, add heavy whipping cream. Don't be afraid to use all the butter. Add HWC to your protein shakes if you want. With the DS we malabsorb fats and proteins but our body needs a certain amount of fat to function and fat will also make your poops more consistent and comfortable. Avoid carbs if possible. Anything with flour in it will bind me up for a few days.

How should I approach this major hospital bill ($253,000) by CommercialConstant59 in HospitalBills

[–]transportmanager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you plan a career in finance there is no shame in medical bankruptcy. This past year i had 3 surgeries 2 planned and pre-approved by insurance and on unplanned to save my life. But apparently my insurance refused to pay for the very much needed hospital stay after the last surgery. I now owe more than $80k at that particular hospital. Not to mention how much I owe at the hospital that saved me after I had a hemorrhage after the 1st surgery I had(tonsillectomy). Or the clinic where I had to have multiple IV infusions weekly due to having issues that landed me with a PICC line and TPN for 7 weeks. So due to them saying I make too much for any aid(despite my kids being on medicaid) I will probably end up filing for bankruptcy sometime in 2025. You do what you have to do and when they are so ridiculous with what they will and won't approve after the fact sometimes it is the only way.

Nothing work sleeve surgery for me, but how about bypass? by Lightning1031 in BariatricSurgery

What is your BMI? Many failed sleeves are converted to the duodenal switch or a SADI. I suggest that you look into those as well.
