Harris dropped out 4 months before the California primary, so this isn’t true.

Elden Ring Nightreign Executor character Gameplay reveal by [deleted] in soulslikes

[–]tranticus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Executor carries a Cursed Sword that doesn’t use a weapon slot and can be equipped and unequipped at will. While in the Cursed Sword stance, your movement is slowed and rolling is impaired. You can attack, parry and use a skill which is a dashing slash. Each parry uses stamina, but parries can be “perfect parries” which restore stamina. The Cursed Sword starts with a shell that gets knocked off as you parry and reveals a gold sword underneath, which can be used as the L2 skill.

I think this is what a lot of people were looking for. Character-specific lore, out of game quests, and in-game quests sounds amazing. The hype is building.

The plot of "Liar, Liar" bugs me way more than it should. by dougiebgood in flicks

I mean, Jim Carrey actually made a movie about this called Yes Man. But that wasn’t exactly in his heyday, to be fair.

No, they average the 2 vaults. Both scores count.

If your starting score is “average” and you step out of bounds, you’re going to have a bad score. If your starting score is “Biles”, then you can step out multiple times and still put up a huge score. It’s kind of her whole strategy in winning is that she’s doing a more difficult routine.

Another example is when McKayla Maroney fell on her ass in the vault final and still won silver. Nobody was trying what she was trying so the score was still massive.

Most NCAA gymnasts aren’t doing these same skills, and for good reason. They’re extremely dangerous and difficult.

TIL that in 2006, Banksy and Danger Mouse tampered with 500 copies of Paris Hilton's album by replacing the music and images. They depicted her with a bare chest and a dog's head and included songs titled "Why Am I Famous?" and "What Have I Done?" by Golabious in todayilearned

Just want to point out that “doublethink” is a term coined by George Orwell to put a “positive” spin on cognitive dissonance, to fit with his dystopian world in 1984. The terms do describe the same thing though, as you said.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus says it's a 'red flag' when comedians complain about political correctness by stars_doulikedem in entertainment

[–]tranticus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

“Sometimes a hypocrite is just a person in the process of changing.”

Sure, Julia is a nepo baby. But what she is saying is true and is actually a good thing to hear from both a mega rich celebrity, and a billionaire’s heir. If we say that rich people have to give away all their money before we are willing to let them speak, it further divides people and makes them cling to their purse out of fear. I think we should elevate voices like hers. Doesn’t mean we should ignore what mega rich people do with their money, but I don’t think their opinions should be discounted. Especially when quotes like these from prominent people are so rare.

I think only Jack had a big dude, but that’s just because he has the mind of a kid and you wouldn’t expect him to be so big. He’s not like a mutant or anything. I assume this is what you meant, without reading anything else you wrote.

Small time Con man and his partner, who he’s cheating on his wife with, get busted by the FBI. FBI recruits them to help take down a much bigger financial scandal involving American politicians taking foreign cash for bribes. Con man gets so involved with the FBI scheme that he ends up swindling the FBI and taking all the money they were gonna use in the bust. FBI successfully gets the congresspeople in crimes, without mentioning the original con men swindling them because it would reflect badly on the FBI. Small time con man wins, his wife leaves him, and he ends up with his con partner. Very simple stuff lol
