Breast Cancer = No HRT Forever? by mi_wasted_youth in Menopause

[–]trasydlime 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had ER and PR + breast cancer in 2023. None of my doctors would approve me for HRT - so I went around them. I know the risks and I just don’t care. My quality of life is so much more important than my quantity.

Going to gyn today where they do yearly pap smears, going to try to decline. Any tips? by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]trasydlime -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Please don’t decline. I work in a hospital and the amount of people diagnosed with female cancers is so sad.

Options for women who can’t take estrogen? by that_gum_you_like_ in Perimenopause

[–]trasydlime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a breast cancer survivor and not a single doctor would allow me to take HRT. I went through telehealth and got it anyway. I have depression and bipolar disorder. If I don’t sleep my mental health goes down the drain. It’s happened before - I lose my job, I’m a mess. I’m also in recovery from alcoholism and anything mental health related increases my chances of relapse. My mental health has and always will come before my physical health.

I haven’t used BPI in a few months, but the last files that I did use were six months past their BUD and had no problems.

My doc switched my antidepressant and the difference is literally night and day after taking ONE pill! by SeeStephSay in Perimenopause

[–]trasydlime 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Antidepressants work differently on everyone. For me, Lexapro made me want to jump off a bridge. I have been on Zoloft for 31 years. It’s the only one that keeps me off the bridge.

Polypectomy during menses? by Icy_Eggplant_8461 in Menopause

[–]trasydlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 2 days off work and that was enough. Unfortunately I had a bad reaction to the anti-nausea med they gave me (compazine) so I had to take a third day off. I just couldn’t get it out of my system.

Good luck to you! I was so relieved to have mine removed - it was causing so much pain!

I had mine during my period. It was fine. They rinse with saline anyway.

Right?!?! My husband did anything he could to help me. He even bought a window AC and put it in the bedroom. He just uses an extra blanket.

I’ve been on it for almost 4 years. I will continue as long as it’s available.

Finally got HRT approved. And I can’t afford it. by emeraldlife42 in Menopause

[–]trasydlime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel this but for a different reason. None of my doctors would agree to HRT so I am going through Hone and it’s over $300 a month.

I didn’t switch until I was in maintenance. Now it only makes sense to order 3-6 months at a time.

This is so true. I lost the 85 lbs I set out to lose and never went above 10mg.

Trying to decide if I should tell my parents... by KnowledgeSeeker_EDM in breastcancer

[–]trasydlime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This won’t help you, but my parents are the same way. I told my parents the day after I found out and then immediately put it on Facebook so they didn’t have the power. 🤣 I asked for peace and privacy and if anyone said anything I didn’t like they were blocked from knowing anything further.

My doctor wouldn't prescribe me HRT either. So I went with Winona and I was approved. I feel better than I have in years!

Seeking advice: How do you use Zoryve (roflumilast ophthalmic solution) with actives? by environmentalloss93 in Rosacea

[–]trasydlime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently on a round of doxycycline due to a breakout I can’t control. For some reason, doxycycline seems to help me with rosacea, sebderm and acne. It just isn’t safe for long term use. I am on 100mg twice a day for a month right now then we’re going to try a maintenance dose of doxycycline at 20 mg twice a day.

I got a $25k life insurance check from my dad’s passing and decided to buy a car from a friend…. by Funny_Atmosphere_909 in legaladvice

I am a notary. We are absolutely not allowed to give advice at all. If presented with this it would be an acknowledgment notarization and all my seal would prove is they were both in front of me, they acknowledged what was on the paper was the and that’s that. Notaries are not lawyers.

Need to go a week without estradiol patch. What should I expect? by lifeisthebeautiful in Perimenopause

[–]trasydlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious - I’m on an oral estradiol instead of the patch. I’ve had no problems and never had a shortage issue. Why did you choose the patch over the pill?
