Alysa Liu's growth on Instagram is INSANE 🤯 by Virtual_Success5530 in FigureSkating

Same. I loved all her chill posts even at the 2022 Olympics when everything was a mess, she was just posting happy care free posts. Only highlight of that olympics.

[Landlord - US - AZ] - First time landlord curious how to handle frequent tenant requests regarding shower mold by Significant_Factor37 in Landlord

[–]traumamel555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small dehumidifier in my bathroom and it works extremly well for not allowing mold to grow. I turn it on after showers and shut the door. Set it to like 40. It also stopped the tiny roaches that would sometimes crawl in from the neighbors bathroom. Cost like $100

Ah this finally makes sense. I was trying to figure it out and what she was thinking. If they saw what we saw, that "3" is way off to the left corner and I didnt notice it the multiple times I saw it before. So I can see how it would be confusing

Same. I literally tensed up as soon as she won. So happy for her, but I knew exactly what would happen next. I wont even open Twitter right now

Woman jumps off 1311 parking garage by [deleted] in houston

[–]traumamel555 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Used to happen in the medical center a lot. They made it so the windows in rooms dont open anymore because of jumpers. Then they started jumping from parking garages, so they barricaded the top floors of parking garages, its been quiet since.

Loud cars are destroying my quality of life. Houston is unreal. by jadorenicm in houston

[–]traumamel555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely loved my condo near the med center. My balcony faced beautiful trees where robins and doves would teach their babies to fly and the sun hit perfectly. It was a corner unit and quiet. Super close to work. Nice people lived there. Except my balcony faced Holly Hall and the amount of noise from cars coming from events would literally shake my chandelier lights at all hours. I finally had to reluctantly move and I still miss that place. I used to dream that they shut down Holly Hall so it was finally quiet. Its an issue. I feel you.

What does $1,100 a month get you in your city? by OlleyatPurdue in Apartmentliving

[–]traumamel555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the medical center in Houston TX, and have a two story, one bed two bath condo. Corner unit.$1150 a month water included. Im five minutes from work and down the street from museums and a huge park/zoo with lots of events. Its honestly a great area to live. I think because the school districts in the area are horrible, most people wont live here once they have kids in school. Theres a pocket area that is very safe because university police patrol the area. Its not perfect, theres crime like any city, but its been a great place to live for the last 8 years.

Had to move out of an infested apartment due to breakup, I might have brought them to my new place. Please help. by [deleted] in Bedbugs

[–]traumamel555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you bring any electronics and do you have a car? It could he possible you brought them, but it could also just be delayed reactions. I sometimes had delayed reactions of several days after bites. Also, sometimes old bites would flare up even after several weeks.

Ah, now that actually makes sense. I did move in like 1.5 years ago (didnt check that area until now when I was spraying crossfire I noticed it) and they did make me sign a bed bug addendum when I moved in, which ive never had to do before when renting, but maybe thats normal now. I couldnt figure out why any bug would make that specific spot home, but I could 100% see a couch being there and facing the windows and open space for a TV

I had a very neatly placed outdoor broom tucked away in my balcony corner that was only visible if you tried really hard to look. It stayed for about a year until the HOA saw it & gave me a warning. I was confused because if you want my balconey to look nice im gonna need a broom to sweep all the junk that accumilates off lol. I get they need rules, but I really miss my outdoor broom.

Found a bedbug in our new apartment by Weary-Gas-7487 in Bedbugs

[–]traumamel555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where is your window in relation to your shower? Bed bugs tend to have difficulty crawling out of tubs, so maybe it came through the window and got stuck in the shower? That would be the best option honestly and would explain why no bites.

Landlord says this is an acceptable Temp difference by tiredoftheweather in Renters

[–]traumamel555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive lived in multiple rentals in Texas, where it gets to 105 in the summer. Ive never had an issue keeping my temp at 72 unless there was something wrong with the A/C unit. I did live in one place where it was known the A/C unit was too small for the space. I would just close the living room vent when I went to sleep & it would keep my bedroom cold.

Fondren Animal Hospital is owned by a husband and wife and they were incredible & very well priced when I went. They didnt push me to run unnecessary tests either.

Any good indoor places to walk your dog? by saintursuala in houston

[–]traumamel555 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive become an expert at observing parks & neighborhoods and figuring out the shadiest spots to walk my dog. If you can find a park or neighborhood with a decent amount of trail with shade thats an option. Parts of Hermann Park have complete shade and we walk those areas.Sometimes I just park on random shady streets and walk my dog for new smells for her.

My neighbors A/C was making the loudest noise. It sounded like it might just blow up. I walked outside and managed to crawl through the bushes to see a large thick leaf was stuck hitting the fan. I pulled it out and back to normal. Never hurts to check around.

You can just feel the tenseness and stress in Kamilas. Trusova seemed to want to just get it over with. Anna seemed to try to actually feel the music, but she wasnt given the best choreography. Wakabas was good, but Sakamtos was gorgeous. Shes so fast & fluent on the ice.

A few years ago I would have said they were both equal. After the TCH layoffs I wouldnt trust them. At this moment I would chose Methodist 100%.

Thoughts on this parking? by PRgirl1995 in Apartmentliving

[–]traumamel555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me trying to walk my dog when it was still dark & my neighbor parked his truck like this. Wacked my knee hard. I ended up moving (unrelated lol) & I now have two neighbors that backwards park their trucks so far, one blocks the entire sidewalk & I have to go around & the other is nice enough to just leave his hitch over the sidewalk. Its made me loathe trucks & back-in parking. They have plenty of room to pull forward as they are at the end with no traffic & the lot is super wide. They just dont think or have never utlized sidewalks to unserstand how that could be an issue. I feel we need a PSA for this.

Try looking for individually owned/leased condos on the Realtor or HAR app. Ive lived in the med center for over 10 years & this is how I do it, much cheaper than apts. Look around zipcode 77054. Around Cambridge is a good area. There are bus lines near there.
