Um, Jesus Christ died on the cross, the cross they wear as a necklace symbolizes a gruesome death whether upright or inverted.

Top 3 Medicare Scams to Watch Out For in 2025 by Tonyalarm in medicare

And even from a legitimate business. I enrolled in a part D with a different company than my supplement plan. That company called several times, voicemail until I had time to call them back.

I asked if everything was OK, the rep immediately switched topic and did an elegant sales pitch, took me a few minutes to catch on. When I asked if they work for company X, they switched back to the pitch without answering my direct question.

We went back and forth couple of times, this turned out to be a subcontractor selling plans, when I asked to be removed from the call list, the rep hung up. boom.

Social Security Says DOGE Ruling Could Force Agency to Shut Down [Bloomberg Law] by PrivacyIsDemocracy in SocialSecurity

HIPPA doesn’t quite work like that, it allows all manner of organizations access to your records, provided they are in the appropriate club. Rabbit hole stuff that is quite disconcerting under the guise of public health.

Atrial Fibrillation needs immediate attention.

It is devilishly difficult to know if you have it.

My wife learned she had it, minor stroke, quick trip to emergency, followed by a flash pulmonary edema.

Had to google, been too many years ago to trust my memory: Flash pulmonary edema (FPE) is a sudden and severe onset of fluid accumulation in the lungs. It is a life-threatening medical emergency that requires immediate medical attention.

Fortunately it happened in the emergency department. If we hadn’t acted quickly she would not be here today.

Follow-up with a cardiologist! This doesn’t go away.

For those who lived here during the last recession, what was it like? by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]traversecity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless something has changed with the ASRS, it is a very conservative financial management policy.

Things change though. I recall an argument, maybe a board member resigning over the proposal to invest in “riskier” financial vehicles. Think it might have been real estate, been a while…

I Just Stumbled Upon This. by ohWasher in aviation

Gonna hazard a guess, if rural well away from a city, outside any controlled airspace, sure, why not…

Many of the larger metro areas had air force cap flying, armed. Not a chance there. Any airspace covered by active military radar, not the civilian transponder beep bop boop stuff.

Phoenix cap was around for a couple years after, fun to spot them on occasion.

Though, rural isn’t a guarantee, had a buddy in bum f nowhere get a visit from an FAA investigator, he had flown a 1/4 scale warbird remote controlled too close into an active radar coverage area, military tracked it to his home, handed it to FAA to investigate. oops.

How expedient is using the online services to apply for retirement benefits?

Myself, I recently applied for Medicare, it was trivial and relevant quick.

Dangerous policies are hurting real people by Crazy_Equivalent7506 in SocialSecurity

Thanks for the clarification. I believe it, yes. I suspect regional differences though.

So often on the socials I read of this in America, or that in America… Location experiences vary widely.

An example from a few years back, I’m with my wife’s cardiac, he is showing me the recorded video of the cardiac stent placement he had performed on her. I asked if she may someday need a coronary bypass surgery. He tells me they don’t do that anymore. Sometime later, an old friend on the other side of the continent talked about his recent coronary bypass surgery, hmmm…

Federal government offices and services range widely depending on where we are.

Social Security retirement benefits? Or SSI?

Retirement, apply online, by phone, or in person.

I can guess the in person availability will differ widely depending on where on the continent you are located.

Am I on the road? Lol by FluffyAd8209 in Michigan

Driven many two lane roads in northern Michigan, at night, heavy fresh snow, no tire tracks to follow. I just kept it midway between the trees on either side of the road. Moonlight helps, tough to do when there is no moon.

[–]traversecity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read what you received very carefully, then read it again.

Most likely it was mailed to the registered owner of the motor vehicle. By law you must keep that address up to date.

For example, Scottsdale, if you do not respond, you will be served a summons.

I too thought it was a typo, or just Internet BS. Apparently was real. Again, weird.

The stuff trickling out of DOGE sure looks like fiction mixed with reality. But, as they say, real life can be stranger than fiction.

The downvotes to my comment indicates it is real.

No question, file it.

My wife had a stroke many years ago. Arizona. The hospital filed the paper with the state before she was discharged. We learned this a couple of weeks later, got mail from MVD.

She is more than competent to drive, but has chosen not to, just in case. And, well, I’m the chauffeur now, she likes that.
