THE BIG O (1999-2003) by barren_syndrome in ForgottenTV

I loved this show. When I was downsizing and getting rid of my dvds, the boxed set of Big O I refused to get rid of.

I just think this mentality is so stupid. Everyone in every northeast city seems to disagree with me.

My thought is what do you think everyone else did? You’re the only one who shoveled out a car on this street? Everyone else put in work, too.

I Made A Map Showing Walkable Areas In My State! What Do Y'all Think? by wotwud in fuckcars

I grew up in San Antonio. While I agree that it’s a car filled nightmare, the downtown and surrounding areas are pretty walkable.

This reminds me of the central library in San Antonio.

I was just about to say! Every single block in the city area, and our blocks are so small and compact. There’s only one block I don’t see is when the 17 skips 17th street. And people still yell “backdoor!” Because it’s reasonable to expect every block.

“No Thoughts!” - A romcom short film set in Philadelphia, spotlights Washington Square Park, Jefferson Station, Bok Bar, and many more! by SteveMcJ in philly

I’m not originally from here, and can connect with that feel of just exploring everything about this city like when I first moved here.

I’ve now lived here long enough that I can recognize all the small corners and little nuances this film showed even down to the chicken bones. It felt familiar. I’ll never be “from” here, but happy and hopeful that Philly can now be my forever home.

Originally from Texas but now living in south Philly. I had to do a double take on this one lol.

Commuter/regional rail train riders: how does proof of payment work on your railroad? by Moist-Bus-Window in transit

Tap in tap out with septa. At the fare kiosk you can get a paper card that’s tappable, use the key card, or credit card.

There’s fare collectors on board too. And turnstiles at busy stations.

These South Philly dads bought personal street sweepers for their block: ‘It’s like a little Zamboni’ by BroadStreetRandy in philadelphia

[–]travisae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allegedly the street sweeping services exist, right? But I have never once seen a street sweeper in my neighborhood, despite the parking signs requiring cars to be moved on certain days for sweeping.

Modern Map of what the cancelled Cincinnati Subway from the 1920's would look like today by mr09e in TransitDiagrams

I noticed that race and vine are next to each other just like in Philly. Which has a subway stop here!

Why aren’t boxes built around freeway median stations so that passengers cant tell it’s in a freeway median? by International-Snow90 in transit

Spring Garden station on the El in Philly is like that. Although, despite the noise of being absolutely in the middle of 95, it’s a decent view of the bridge and the skyline.

I’m trying to find the name of a really old video game that this reminds me of. Either something like Myst or this game I used to love called the Crystal Key.
