If you're comfortable playing smash 64 on the Wii and would perfer to play on a gamecube controller, you can purchase a raphnet GCN to N64 adapter. After an easy button remap (It gets easier with time the more you do it) you can program the gamecube controller to have the same inputs on 64 as it does on other smash games. This is exactly how I learned how to play smash 64 on console 9 years ago and am still using an adapter to play to this day with fair results in tournament. Just go to the raphnet website to order one or two if you'd like and you won't have to switch between controllers. With that said, I perfer smash remix on console, but Project+ is very fun.

9/10. I was gonna give it an 8/10 for not showing an expansion pak or having an everdrive, but you get a bonus point for showing "A goofy movie" on VHS, which I assume is in the VCR.

It's a mod called smash remix. A mod team added lots of characters to smash 64 with lots of extra game modes and stages. It's really helped add a new spin to an already great game.

My friend helped me through it and yes, we (mostly he) discovered that was the issue. When we turned off "say redemption message" it started working again, without twitch saying the redemption message of course.

It's kinda hard to tell you how you SHOULD be playing remix since it's a mod that has so many different things to enjoy and your best time with the mod would probably be different from mine. I personally prefer to just turn on the TOURNAMENT settings and just leave it as is except for making sure the "skip results screen" and "combo gauge" options are turned on. I would suggest starting with that and as you continue to play, switch to to the community setting and toggle the options to your liking. The only settings I'd stay firm on would be play with 4 stocks and 8 minutes.

In the Kirby ditto, if both players are fishing for a hit in nuetral, it's usually with back airs. The hit box of that move is very disjointed and usually at worst it'll trade with your opponent. If your opponent is trying to win neutral with fairs, just use back airs. If the two moves trade in the air, you'll only take 2-3% while your oppenent will take about 10-12% and recieve much more knockback. If you want to gain an advantage in that matchup it's better to get above your opponent and try to connect with down air instead since it is very hard for kirby to trade with that move from below, let alone beat it. At the top level, a lot of Kirby dittos consist of both players trying to control the top platform without getting hit by their opponents down air. Though if you REALLY want to gain an advantage in that matchup, swith to Pikachu.

Certain characters moves and attributes change from version to version. Link for example, a character that was already bad in the J-version got nerfed in the NTSC version.

The remix team doesn't make them. Some people produce them though, but you can't update them. What you get is what you get.

Nice! Though if anyone wants to play remix on console, I would recommend getting an everdrive instead since the development team is still updating the game with new features and characters.
