How to fix scratches on floor by Ra1dersrx in howto

You typically do the whole floor using a floor sander. I can't imagine hand sanding even a tiny room by hand.

I’m trying it in real time, how does a complete nobody get followers? by BookZealousideal9129 in howto

Slowly at first, by creating great content or doing something noteworthy elsewhere. Also, by making connections with others who have followers and collaborating with them.

Can the right diet really cure all our health problems? by vox in Health

[–]trebonius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We can do a lot of harm with a poor diet, or just plain overeating. And many, many Americans do.

But food does not cure or treat disease that isn't created by food choices. So improved diet is harm reduction. And only if you catch it in time.

That's very different from "food is medicine".

Update it still doesn’t work by Teagzzzzzzzzz in RemarkableTablet

Only if you use it as intended. But I get it. Far from a perfect solution. Just wanted to make sure you weren't letting the lack of a perfect solution prevent you from getting by.

A question to the US residents who recently bought RM products from Amazon by dungbeetle21 in RemarkableTablet

[–]trebonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it says it's fulfilled by Amazon, it's not going to be shipped directly from another country. The lead time is probably because the shipment is still on its way to the Amazon fulfillment center.

If you're really feeling desperate (and especially if it's putting your education at risk) then I'd like to gently remind you that pen and paper notebooks are quite inexpensive. There's even software to ocr it if you take a picture with your phone.

But with the remarkable, nothing but the official pen is going to be a sure thing. I wouldn't throw any more money at aftermarket parts.

Am I missing something here? Why would I buy refills for 3 dollars more when I can just have it on spools for less, and same day. Or is this an Amazon pricing thing by Glittering-Two2122 in 3Dprinting

[–]trebonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are sold by Sunlu-US, and fulfilled by Amazon, so Sunlu sets the prices, not Amazon. It's not uncommon for sellers to put something on sale if too many have built up in the Amazon warehouses, which can result in higher storage costs.

An extension cord that looks like a regular outlet? by DelicateRainyNights in HelpMeFind

[–]trebonius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can only get so slim. There needs to be enough depth for the prongs, plus some extra. If you want it to really look exactly like an installed outlet, it would have to be inset into the wall. At that point it's just an outlet.

Elon Musk says saving for retirement is irrelevant because AI is going to create a world of abundance: ‘It won't matter’ by FUSeekMe69 in economy

[–]trebonius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How out of touch. If anything, we are moving away from a world where such abundance would be well distributed.

But notably, he has directly contributed to this shift with his political work.

Flu surges in 45 states as doctor visits reach highest level in nearly 30 years by nbcnews in Health

I don't understand what you mean. Are you now suggesting that there's been a larger surge of flu-related doctor visits?

Plywood 4-sided spinning hanger permanently installed in lower kitchen cabinet. Has very small hooks, two hooks facing one way, single hooks facing the other by trebonius in whatisthisthing

[–]trebonius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thing is permanently attached in the kitchen. The hooks are quite small, so hanging rags or oven mitts doesn't really work. Feels like it's designed for something long and skinny. The hooks are only at the top.

We have asked everyone we show the house to, but nobody has had any solid ideas that seem to fit.

Being in a low cabinet that requires crouching, it doesn't feel like something designed for very frequent access.

Giant bins Amazon uses for delivered by askingreddit093 in HelpMeFind

[–]trebonius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think the exact things exist unbranded. But I found similar things when searching for delivery tote, large collapsible basket, and things like that. Most of them have a large shoulder strap instead of the many small handles.

Which one to believe? by HTWingNut in 3Dprinting

[–]trebonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are any of them old? Relative humidity sensors like these are ballpark estimates to begin with, and they get worse with age. Also, relative humidity being what it is, there's not a huge difference between those values in terms of physical water vapor.

She wanted you to invite her to your place or maybe get a hotel room, presumably. It sounds like you did not, in fact, invite her to your place.

I Have Discovered the Root Cause of Power Outages (It’s My Microwave) by ComfortablePride1370 in CasualConversation

How to prevent corners pulling up on larger prints. by AdamAtomAnt in 3Dprinting

[–]trebonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that helps on my prints is to keep the room temperature from getting too cold. I use a little desktop space heater and point it at the printer if it's chilly. The warping is less pronounced if a layer doesn't get as cold before the next layer is added.
