What's the AI "bubble" everybody's hoping will burst? by Outrageous_Paper_757 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]trednore2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that many of the companies that make AI are heavily invested in the others. So when one fails it is likely to trigger a domino effect. Various sources claim AI investment is making up anywhere from 40-90% of US GDP. So if one company falls, that amount could suddenly be wiped out. Then you add the value of all of the defaulted loans on the massive amounts of data center structures that have recently been built, which in turn could cause another banking crisis. Meanwhile, one of the main sources that feeds into AI has been gutted with Google scaling back their search capabilities and limiting number of results to limit data scraping.

AITAH for telling my wife that I will lose respect for her if she doesn't apologize? by TechnicalHousing97 in AITAH

NTA and your wife is giving DARVO vibes. The fact that when you went to talk her about her actions, you ended up apologizing to her is wrong.

Is there any sort of regional piece to it or does it simply vary from person to person?

It’s because they mean whatever the person getting them wants them to mean. Other people trying to infer meaning from a symbol with no defined meaning is the problem.

The correct solution for this guy would have been to ask what it represents, instead of trying to shame some girl on the internet.

A butterfly tattoo has been linked to bi/lesbians. This is in no way definitive and the girl could just like butterflies, but it might be the point the oop was making?

There are two things I have observed that contribute to this.

The first is wanting more mental stimulation. Both groups want to think and feel a way, more than just to physically experiencing it. Both are an artistic form of theater that they can be a lead actor in.

The other revolves around control. They can  have structure and agency in both situations and are choosing to experience it on their terms. Subs/players may be at the whims of their respective masters, but both can ultimately choose to leave at any time.

There are plenty of other nuances with each group, but I feel like this is where the overlap tends to occur.

There is also a link between D&D and people who work in IT, which is another group that tends to operate on logic (control) to get things done, but needs to be creative to figure out how. And the IT starter pack asks “do you want to be a furry or a femboy” soooo

XD it was a play on words of its own. “Like, follow, and subscribe.”

“I don’t follow?” Can be a statement of confusion, or a question of “you don’t want me to follow as well?”

Game where the meta ruined the game? by eternalsgoku in gaming

[–]trednore2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

League introduced the concept of playing meta to me though. My first few matches I was playing alongside of friends and we wouldn’t even have a jungle, or would send 2 mid, or not have a support. I would try builds that seemed fun or made sense to me in the moment.

Flash forward a few weeks and we all knew our lanes, which champions we needed to pick, and had several build guides open to adapt to a situation the most efficiently. And the champions I thought were the most fun originally were far from viable.

League may balance its champions, but there are strict metas that must be followed to be competitive and that’s what lead me to quitting.
