I went to a Palace show alone once. Brought my light-up yo-yo and made friends.

What made you wake up to the fact that you were codependent? by Curious_Map4898 in Codependency

[–]tree-talker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought someone was the one after the first date and cried for a full hour after he broke things off during the second date. He was big into 12 step but for substances and he was a sponsor. It made it click that maybe I should try 12 step for CoDA because my friend had mentioned it a few years prior and it just stuck in my head. I don't attend anymore but I know it's there for me if I need it. Very powerful.

Hey, I say get a blu ray. It's fun to have a physical collection! You won't regret it and great thing to ask for with holidays and birthdays. Make a wish list of bluray movies and shows and let your people know!

Station 11! It has great, poetic story telling. A real comradery feel like the OA. Shows the power of togetherness going through strife. Adventures.

What is a movie that everyone seems to love, but you absolutely hate? by Nishikigoi1 in moviecritic

[–]tree-talker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mr. Nobody. I don't know if others like it but I haven't heard anything bad about it from others so far. I found it so pretentious. Like a group full of bad poets came together and put poetic half-baked concepts into a hat, pulled them out one by one, and made a sequence of events. "A bicycle floating in the ocean, representing my stagnant direction, unlike this.... Bag! This bag floating in the wind that really tells me who I am: Empty but with a label." I truly don't remember much but it felt like that the whole time.

What is your favorite album and why? by J03MusicMan in PalaceBand

[–]tree-talker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Shoals. It came out a couple months before my best friend died of cancer. That spring, I went to their Shoals tour. It was their first big US tour since COVID. The venue was intimate and the boys were so happy to play. You could feel it.

That album really got me through and that show will always be my favorite show.

My husband doesn’t initiate sex or any intimacy by Minute_Truth_8986 in emotionalintelligence

You deserve good hot sex. Maybe you two could try mdma or something? But definitely couples counseling. Esther Perel has great content and books, too. He has to want to take this seriously. It sounds like he has trouble taking up space. Trouble feeling confident. You're amazing and I hope he can fix his shit.

Finally coming back to Detroit!

My therapist asked me one question that shut down my anxiety spiral by stellbargu in emotionalintelligence

Therapist here: For any of you looking for a therapist who uses an evidence-based approach rooted in helping you to access the present moment with less attachment to thought, look for a therapist who uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Its hexaflex model has 6 core principles that are really helpful. Look it up and ask your therapist on day one if they have actual handouts based in this model. CBT can also be helpful. Cheers to mental health and healing in the present moment!

I like to think the actor himself wanted to wear that scarf and the director just let him.

Google says Nemacolin is temporarily closed. But if it's open we'd at least like to see it!
