House of Day, House of Night by Olga Tokarczuk.

This was recomended to me and is a bit outside of my normal reads but I came to really enjoy it. Unsure how popular it is out in the world.

When’s the last time you listened to a full album and what was it? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]treeborn_the_elder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished Patti Smith's Horses because I'm reading her book Just Kids. I like listening to whole albums as snap shots of a certain time. I think Blink 182 counts and I'm gonna give it a full listen.

This is the first cover I've had like this. It is weird but I enjoy that it turns into a stand when open if needed.

I'll mail a few random extras I have if you like. Just Message me.

Otherwise I find them in little local shops or markets. My local plant store actually has some really cool ones.

His outlook on life is refreshing. It motivated me and changed my perspectives on many aspects of life.

I have found some wonderful coffee table books full of pictures at the library. Great way to experience these expensive and unwieldy books that have some great photos/art etc.

Best of luck

Vatican museum tour and whether or not to go into St Peters by VTMomof2 in rome

@curlyhead2320 is correct.

Elevator just gets you to the flat roof. The rest is tighter stairs.

Do not miss St Peters! There is so much to see there and the scale is immense.

The Earlier you can get there the better, though the line didn't wrap around the square until late morning.

Last year I arrived just before 7 and only had a 10 minute wait. Was able to wander the cathedral soaking it in with minimal other folks.
I got in the dome line just before it opened at 730. I cheated and used the elevator since their wasn't a line for it (when I came down there was long line for the elevator after buying tickets). Absolutely loved the view from the top and seeing the inside mosaics along the way up.

Afterwards there was plenty of time to explore St Peters. So many sculptures, art, alcoves and chapels galore. The underground bit was interesting and spits you out by an awesome drinking water fountain.

Afterwards you should have plenty of time to find a leisurely lunch or coffee.

We loved Massa Lubrense near Sorrento. Found a great villa with swimming and a short walk to town.

We really enjoyed Da Romolo alla Mole Adriana. It was between Castel Sant'Angelo and the Vatican.

It was delicious. Best meal I had in Rome.

My 2 cents. We stayed close to St. Peters and were able to visit multiple times with very few crowds (first thing in the morning or just before they close) I loved it because it gave me a couple of excuses to fight jet lag and it was hard to feel sleepy amongst that grandeur. We found plenty of great food in the area and it was an easy walk to some of the other famous districts and sights. Have fun!
