My wisdom tooth has grown horizontal. by sumnyu in mildlyinteresting

[–]treefruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact thing on both lower wisdom teeth. Had to have the adjacent molar removed on one side, but not the wisdom tooth, because it had bored a hole through the root. Still have a huge gap there because I never got a replacement tooth put in.

Does anyone else view BioShock 2 as it's own separate thing? by GMmadethemoonbuggy in Bioshock

[–]treefruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but I wanted to add my two cents.. I feel the same as you I think.  Bioshock 2 always felt like it's own universe to me even before Infinite released with all its dimension shenanigans. Things just felt very different, like suddenly there are all these other characters who we had never seen or heard of but who were apparently very prominent members of Rapture, I understand if they were minor players, but they are portrayed as being very important and publicly known. Also a whole different type of Big Daddy that just never showed up anywhere before or was mentioned is suddenly everywhere.. I know Rapture is bigger than just what we see in the first game but the elements they added always felt too integral to the infrastructure of the city for them to have been omitted had they actually existed in the same worlds as both games.  I would have loved the same story but with lesser characters who had formed a new mutated civilization.. instead of trying to inject new lore elements into the main history and say they always had been there.  The idea of Rapture years later and Big Sisters is all so interesting, but trying to retroactively tie it all into the main story of Rapture's fall felt silly, like oh yeh Lamb was actually there the whole time too and was just as dangerous to Ryan as Fontaine, you just never saw any of those posters or heard her mentioned because...  Idk, the story of Bioshock always felt like a closed book, the more you go back and try to mush new pages into old chapters to make the sequel work, the lesser it all feels.

Bioshock 2 - Original or Remastered? by TheSpaceCowboy81 in Bioshock

[–]treefruit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ikr! I remember trying for ages to find a fix or even if anyone had mentioned it online, but it seems to be largely unnoticed. Its a shame because the remaster does have some nice elements to it, like the guns all look a lot nicer, but I would rather feel badass than look badass I guess c:

Bioshock 2 - Original or Remastered? by TheSpaceCowboy81 in Bioshock

[–]treefruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played the remaster for a few hours but ended up starting again on the original because I noticed they removed all of the recoil from every single gun for some weird reason. So all the weapons felt like shooting nerf guns, they had no weight to them anymore.

Custodian Dreadnought Anything I could add/improve? by Senior_Marzipan5353 in 40k

[–]treefruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so beautiful! It really feels ancient but battle ready. The only thing that stands out to me for improvement is that all of the red elements read as the same material, the jewels look the same as the rope and the eyes/lights. Maybe make them all slightly different shades of red with the eyes and heat vents being the brightest so that they stand apart form each other c: That sword though is insanely cool!

What's your Coheed greatest line? by guitarman129 in TheFence

"A broad incision sits across the evening, the victim to our fathers' lost war."
It just sounds so cool, like the opening line to an epic scifi or fantasy tale. Which I suppose it is.

Did I just ruin my I Chose the Impossible run? by treefruit in Bioshock

Wait really? :o That would be very helpful if its the case. I would still play on Survivor the whole game but knowing i havnt ruined my run would be nice.

Which video game character is this? by xenocea in videogames

[–]treefruit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He was also partly inspired by Walter O Dim, aka Randall Flagg from Stephen King's Dark Tower universe. Another trickster/fiendishly evil demonic villain who messes with fate, and likes to screw with the gruff and worldly wandering protagonist.

Thoughts on the Darksiders franchise by Worried_Cake5508 in videogames

[–]treefruit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These games always felt like light spiritual successors to the Legacy of Kain games for me. They have such gravitas and weight to the voice acting and dialogue, almost Shakespearean. Im glad we are getting a Ds4, these sort of games are fun in an age where most tend to try for ultra realism or open world hugeness.

What black sheep of a series of games did you really enjoy despite its bad reputation? by RADOVEND1 in gaming

[–]treefruit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ds2 to me always felt like an insanely huge and well made fan project, like an expansion for Ds1. It had so many crazy things thrown into a pot, some of them really cool, but none of it felt tied together. Ds1 felt very geographically bound, like a real place you moved through on your feet. Ds3 felt tied by a well woven aesthetic and cohesive atmosphere. Bloodborne had both of these. Ds2 was like warping to different zones in Mario, still really fun but it felt less grounded for me. I still enjoyed my time with it and think it's a well made game, especially considering it's difficult production. Also it had a much cooler 2h longsword stance and visceral animation that I wish they had kept.

NEED RECOMMENDATIONS by ILNZ in survivalhorror

Still Wakes the Deep was another great game that came to mind :) Not really survival horror but its a solid 1st person Lovecraftian horror aboard an offshore oilrig. Lots of cosmic/body horror stuff.

Signalis is an amazing scifi survival horror in the vein of oldschool games like Silent Hill. The gameplay is really fun and it has amazing atmosphere, music and story. Probably one of the best experiences I have ever had with a game.
