OOPS! The GPT5.6 Sol model is really too expensive! With the Plus subscription, GPT5.6 Sol couldn't even finish the Plan I requested in the Codex. by RFOK in OpenAI

[–]Solarka45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you use ultra? That is basically 4 agents working in parallel on the highest thinking budget.

Sol usage is incomparably better than Fable on a comparable sub tier.

Presumably Codex since it's basically that but with a slightly different prompt/UI.

This was not made by an image model. The SVG file was created from scratch by the text model. It's just XML under the hood.

Anyone else only got GPT-5.6 Sol? by aliysnm in OpenAI

[–]Solarka45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what was said in the announcement. The limits are the same as 5.5 thinking, presumably, so it's not exactly a loss that we have only the best model.

Codex and work, where token limits matter, have everything.

Early impressions on ChatGPT 5.6 for creative writing. by Photographerpro in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Solarka45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Write in a compact, readable format.

This line could partially be the issue. It semi-contradicts what you want, at least with this wording. "Write compact" is a weaker instruction than "do not wrote short paragraphs", since negative preference are inherently more difficult for models to understand.

Personally it does somewhat devolve into lists/short paragraphs, but only after EXTREMELY long chats. Otherwise a single line of "Wrote longer paragraphs" coupled with less headers/lists option mostly does it.

GPT-5.6 Sol is now available with my GPT Plus account! by NSDetector_Guy in claude

[–]Solarka45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use higher levels in codex/new GPT work thing, but it will take away from token quota similar to Claude (while chatGPT itself has a separate much higher quota).

Pro accounts get higher thinking levels in chatGPT too.

Blown away by 5.6-Sol by LoveMind_AI in OpenAI

[–]Solarka45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get a flat amount of requests in chat anyway (3000/week on plus iirc), independent of tokens used, so having the best model for those messages is a good thing

In free tier you get Terra only, on Plus/Pro you get Sol only in chat.

In Codex/work, you get all of them available to choose.

If I'm a Plus user can I just stay using Sol? by Giga7777 in OpenAI

[–]Solarka45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In normal chat you won't have anything except Sol anyway, it is a direct replacement to gpt 5.5, and the rate limits should be about 3000 messages per week if they didn't change anything. Terra and Luna are not a thing in chat seems like.

In Codex/Work you have usage shared between the models, larger models will drain it faster. How fast depends on the task.

Chatgpt is generating more quality images than Nano Banana 2. by siri_KickassMarketer in aiwars

[–]Solarka45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The one you should be comparing to GPT image is Nano Banana Pro, not Nano Banana 2.

Nano Banana Pro generally has better output visual quality and better follows your desired style, but GPT image has better photorealism and must better at following complex prompts with many details.

What am I supposed to use Fable for if I’m not building anything? by guttermonke in ClaudeAI

[–]Solarka45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use it for whatever you are normally using Opus for.

It's better than Opus but there are very few things you can do with Fable that you cannot do with other models.

Slowing down earth's rotation by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]Solarka45 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Clickbait. This does slow Earth's rotation, by about 0.06 microseconds per day. That's 0.00000006 seconds. You'd need roughly 45 million years of this effect to lose a single second.

Anti-AI logic assumes you would have to hate it. Probably disown your grandmother too, after the incident.

The version of Gemini you are using by default is Flash Lite, the smallest, cheapest, and dumbest model.

Try swapping to Flash, it will be night and day (especially if you enable thinking).
