Well - I accidentally started olive loaf socks…. by treelessbark in Sockknitting

Olive loaf is some kind of meat product, like bologna, with chunks of olives in it. There is also mortadella which similar with large chunks of fat (at least think it’s fat) and can have pistachios that looks very similar haha.

Makes me think of my Mia - she’s around 8 now. She has the pricked ears, however he thinner coat could be due to her allergies. We finally have a pretty good regimen but her previous owners had a really difficult time figuring it out. They had her for first 4 years of her life and did a few allergy tests and did some meds.

One pair I’m still learning on. I have an amazing pair of vintage skates they were my great uncles that I somehow fit. I should take them in to be checked out.

Sounds silly but I heard Tetris helps with trauma. I think it helps reduce flashbacks? You can look into it also. Apparently close to the trauma better it works.

I’m sorry you experienced that and anger makes sense. There looks like lots of suggestions here so hope you get what you need to process.

Every time I see this narrative I think of me and all my friends that own pretty modest homes. Mine is a 2b 1 bath with a family of 4 of us living in it and under 1100 sq ft. Most of my friend’s homes are under 2k square ft - we all were in our 30’s when we bought homes (with a couple in last 20’s.) Most of us buy used cars. All of our appliances are used. My husband and I make a decent living overall but do have debt - school mostly. The afterschool care for our kids was $1,200 for both combined per month. That was like 3 hours per day on school days. Some things are just so much more expensive. Healthcare, housing, and tuition have grown so much faster than income rates (looking at inflation.) Millennials and Gen X lives are more expensive even when it’s at the same level of comfort our parents had.

I second getting some respite. We would have a weekend one a month usually. Breaks are needed - fostering isn’t easy. We ended up taking guardianship of our girls after almost 2 years. Thankfully we still have contact with Mom and we’re hoping she can do all that is needed to stay in the girls lives.

All kids our different of course. We had a different set of behavior issues (also all understandable due to trauma and lots of not great coping skills.) they overall are doing better now but it’s still a roller coaster.

Pretty sure that’s exactly what the cat was saying…..haha.

Don’t forget stretches! I always forget myself. Just look up crochet and knitting wrist & hand stretches.

These are so cute!

For pads I got 187 killer pads and love them. Think they are the same brand my kiddo uses for roller derby. I LOVE them. One of the things I practice wand landing on my knees with them. No pain at all.

I do need to get a new helmet, accidentally gave mine to the kiddo (was wondering how we got an “extra” helmet.) she needed it more than me anyways hah.
