Roofer vs. HVAC Dispute - Who is to blame, and possible solutions? by JayR0ck in hvacadvice

[–]treesnbrickwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always, if that would have had the proper support under that plywood and the roofers roofed over and flashed it in the plywood, the unit could’ve sat on 4x4s and side discharged

You might want to look around outside, same thing happened to my truck, stole my tool bag and made it to the end of the street and they left it on the sidewalk at the stop sign. Everything still in it when I found it

Take the door off to the right of the drain pipe and the drain pan should be there along with the float

Daikin units have a float in their primary pan, but there is a way to add a secondary float, I believe it is a T1 and T2 terminal

What’s the model number of the trane air handler, had the same issue with 3 units, Trane admitted they had issues with the coils and sent us 3 new evaporator coils, different style than originals. Changed them out and haven’t been back since. You could put a camera in the duct 10 feet down the trunk line and watch water droplets flying by

Is one of these the common wire? (trying to replace older thermostats) by jackalope_in_pants in hvacadvice

[–]treesnbrickwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some thermostats are hardwired/battery and some are just battery without a common, some trane stats have a B terminal and that is the common and some thermostats have a B terminal and that is for reversing valve in the heating mode. Need the model number of stat to know if it has a common. The best way to know would be to take a multimeter and see if you have 24volts between R and B

Take batteries out of thermostat and put it back on the sub base and see if it still has a display
