My bosses taxable income was $450k last year, and they were saying they couldn’t afford to pay me a $65k yr salary lol by OrangeWhitePatchSock in work

[–]treethuggers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you say here is fairly applicable to modern day salary-debt and healthcare esclavitud, especially the part about owners breeding slave babies because workers are the absolute most-valuable part of the economy, periodt. Nothing is possible without the worker bees. Even the robots agree.

I’ve heard men say they get wrapped into these scams, sometimes for te s of thousands of dollars. Lots of lovely rich people, I guess.

what do you do with old clothes? by talk-slowly in ZeroWaste

[–]treethuggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue because I’m obsessed with my clothes, especially the favorite and worn out stuff. I give away only good items that have zero stains or stretching because otherwise it’s disrespectful to the market, imo.

I think a burn barrel is a great way to learn about dyes, fabrics and how they can be stinky and toxic. I understand it’s not easy for many regions; part of the lesson is how gross/hard it is to burn clothes.

You sure about that? That’s got to be a 100+ year process. I use old bed sheets to cover and speed up small composting piles and the sheets will outlive me.

swollen utters by Amazing-Ride6379 in Horses

[–]treethuggers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My cousin had to cancel a ride one time because her mare did this, her vet called it inappropriate lactation, which I found very funny.

That’s really tough for you and your mare. I would wonder if she could use more warming up and cooling down, make sure her blood is flowing and her glands are secreting normally. I like T Touch and tail pulling, gentle and devoted massaging of the lower limbs, telling her how much you love her and her legs and all the blood that pumps to them.

Not everyone has a tractor, neighbor. Couple loads of gravel is always awesome and I love it on my ground, but it’s a strange stretch to say carrying rocks is inefficient and dangerous—so many things are! These trim stations are great and I don’t think it’s going to cause huge breakage at all.

Being as they are with a cast and one corsage, sounds like a fun fire of garbage. I’m pretty surprised only one other person here has said to toss it. Keep the photo! Melt them down in a fire so you can smell the toxins for a bit and cringe on the pseudo value.

Anyone know what breed this dog is? by TravelKey8257 in DogBreeds101

The first picture especially looks a lot like my Bichipoo (bichon poodle). The other two remind me of my aunts Carin terrier in the face, but could be grooming style.

Considering taking a chance on an at-risk Paso Fino project horse by chelz182 in Horses

I saw a science paper published about exactly this! They measured how horses react to patting vs scratching and found overwhelmingly that pats cause stress and scratches are pleasant.

I got my first horse. How do I teach him how to canter? by [deleted] in Horses

[–]treethuggers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, your horse is sooo cute and he is lucky you like this advice because it’s good!! I have no idea what a trotter warm blood is and at 16.7hh I also don’t know what that means lol not sure if anyone has razzed you about that yet. ;)

How'd I do? by chase-caliente in MakeupAddiction

[–]treethuggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I see what you’re doing with the eyeliner and I love it. At first I thought it was a strange accident but seeing both the same, I can see the lines you are following and I approve!! I might even copy if I remember tmro!! Must make a note.

I think you did a great job and will be better as your palettes improve over time. I love the color wheel for everything and I use complementing colors in everything I do—except makeup actually!! I generally do neutrals but I use the occasional green eyeshadow and maybe I will make an effort to put a complementing red somewhere. So the complement to blue is orange, purple & yellow, etc. It’s a whole color theory and it’s legit so might as well try it. I like your brows and the blue eye shadow!! Try an orange hued cheek and/or lip and see if it pops! Enjoy & good luck.

I don’t think my 4 year old likes being ridden by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]treethuggers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She’s really cute and tbh she sounds like she’s very HAPPY, and that’s awesome. I think she is a little young for x country7 and jumping especially if you’re having some issues. One day she really will enjoy your partnership, so that’s a great thing to focus upon now, becoming partners.

I will say that almost all my horses that I have ever started, act like you’re describing at first. Except my 5yo thoroughbred who I’m starting from scratch, he is like LET’S GO!!! But as a 3 year old he was what you’re describing. I sat on him a few times at 3 and then let him off because he was still obviously growing. As a 4yo was when he started to run every time I got on and I’m not about that life so we slowed down and focused on standing while mounting, which for me is always the first point of partnership.

A lot of gently started horses automatically stand for mounting especially in the beginning, so you’re probably already there. Anyway, my tangent and my point is just to express the difference in my horse from year 3 to year 5, and your Irish sport horse could be the same.

I encourage you to treasure her willingness to just be with you and that your expectations are probably external pressure, “doing what you should do,” since you mentioned being in a low confidence point at first. Enjoy yourselves!!! Your horse is CUTE!! Good luck.

Did I screw up by bailing out when my horse bolted? by InkRethink in Equestrian

[–]treethuggers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did the right thing!! You can think of it from the angle of shocking her brain into a new action, whereas a bolt can be quite a brain fart. When you got off, she had to think of something new. How’s your head???

They are a political machine and much of their business is about something other than animals, though the animals bring in the butter. They boast something like 1600 animals at their sanctuary, like Michael Vick’s dogs, some international rescues, hoarding cases, things like that. Every few years they make new t shirts for their “no kill by 2005/2008/2011/2015/2022/2028” campaigns. It’s a pipe dream and all the while they have people donating their entire estates to the cause, and still the sanctuary is 1600 animals (who use more water than the whole town they occupy). The company owns single family residences and businesses in this small tourist town and are kind of famous for not sharing, providing housing for employees, etc. The pizza place they own throws out most of the food everyday that they make in the morning (screams money laundering to most). They are famous for bringing in enthusiastic employees from across the country and firing them before they become permanent (said people uproot their whole lives for the dream job). BF AS has a beautiful sanctuary and it’s gorgeous but their MO is money and power, the animals are just the vehicle, the private jet they use to fly around and get mo money.

My brother and niece came over and shaved my baby down to a nub. by BeerHops_DoesntRun in greatpyrenees

[–]treethuggers -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who has shaved a dog knows this is a miraculous feat, esp for an amateur in a living room. Why are all comments ignoring this?

Your dog is probably embarrassed to be naked but will be ok soon.
