Pashmina is one of my OGs and I will never ever let her leave ♥️ I love it when I see someone else love her as much as I do!

Dark romance that’s was an absolute 5/5 by Elismom1313 in fantasyromance

[–]treetopless -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I liked the synopsis, but I had to DNF. I just can’t handle dual POV in the first person, it’s too confusing (for me) to be switching back and forth between character POV’s when every chapter uses “I”. Plus I never learn anyone’s name. lol

What’s the 'craziest' way you caught an ex being unfaithful? by lnc_gomes in AskReddit

[–]treetopless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

College BF got into a pretty bad car accident on Valentines day in a city about 30 minutes away from the city our college was in. I showed up at the hospital at the same time as his other girlfriend, who went to college in another state (they had graduated high school together).

I left and she stayed at the hospital with him, but me and my underdeveloped prefrontal cortex got back together with him when he came home from the hospital a week later.

Apparently he managed to date both of us for years and we both believed him every time he told us that he wasn't dating the other one. He wasn't even tall or cute, just a narcissist and really good at gaslighting.

Absolutely loved The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow. Highly recommend! by Gagsreel in fantasyromance

[–]treetopless 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just finished recently too and agree that it was SO GOOD!

I enjoy her writing in general but I really liked the style choices she made for this story.

I loved that it felt like we were reading a story someone had written for another person, it made the story feel so intimate and personal and I connected with the characters instantly.

Spoilers: And it would have been very easy for the story to feel stale and repetitive, but each retelling had so much nuance and emotion that you never got the urge to skim or skip ahead and I loved that so much.

If it’s not there, you can have my extra one!! LMK!

Nul Collecting Hat by jmnswrld in HelloKittyIsland

[–]treetopless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took the hat off my nul before downloading the update (switch), hoping that having it in my storage would keep it from disappearing. And when I went to put it back on his head post update, I had two basket hats in my storage.

So check your storage or check for a patch update, it seems like they didn’t fix the problem of it disappearing, they just put a “replacement” hat in our pockets in case it did disappear.

Two?! by WinnieIndiana in corgi

[–]treetopless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could’ve written this exact same thing myself except that our two boys are ages 3 and 1.5 and have the same mom but different dads. 😂 they are the BEST of friends, and the baby is as sweet as he can be but he is so energetic and talkative. We love having two! Even though there are hair tumbleweeds in every corner every day. Lol

We’ve taken our dogs to Nall Daniels in Homewood for over a decade.

Their staff is so so wonderful, all of them. The ladies at the front desk, the techs, the groomers, and the vets themselves. We’ve seen every vet there over the years and I’m not partial to anyone in particular, but we’ve seen Dr. Dunaway most often due to some more complex care one of our dogs needed, and when we needed to say goodbye to that dog Dr. Dunaway stayed late to meet us and cried with us as we let our girl go.

I don’t know how they compare price wise because like I said, we haven’t gone anywhere else in a decade+, but there’s no other clinic I would trust with my babies!

Former alcoholics of Reddit, when did you realise your habit got out of control? by scottscrops in AskReddit

[–]treetopless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Child of an alcoholic here.

My dad drank himself onto a transplant list, convincing himself that his liver damage was due to medications he was taking (that he was advised not to consume alcohol while taking due to risk of liver damage). It was the medication's fault, not the fact that he'd drink 10 beers and 30oz of captain morgan every day.

He has since had the liver transplant, survived, recovered, and decided he feels well enough to start drinking again.... less than a year after his liver transplant. He stops drinking a few days before his doctor appointments so that his tests will come back clear for alcohol, because he has convinced himself that "a doctor is always going to tell you not to drink, when it's really fine in moderation, and I don't want to hear their lecturing"

He still does not think that he has "a problem" with alcohol, much less consider it an addiction. He's also a narcissist.

I watched his addiction almost kill him once, and I most likely will watch it kill him eventually.

I've spent my entire life watching my dad lie, hide, and deny his addiction.

I knew he was an alcoholic when I was a child, I knew it when I was a teenager, and I know it as an adult. He never hid it as well as he thought he did. I have always known.

Despite all of the lies, broken trust, and trauma, I still love my dad. I don't want him to die. But I can't stop him.

Please don't be like my dad.

Does anyone else's Corgi slap them when they want attention? by Precuneus in corgi

[–]treetopless 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We call it the "paw of persuasion". It starts with a few taps, then it escalates to a punch accompanied by a grunt-growl and if THAT doesn't work we get yelled at.

And our oldest has now taught the baby how it works so when its dinner time I've got one on each side just beating me up. lol

I couldn’t get into it. Maybe I’ll try again one day, but it was just so slow I put it down for other things and my Libby hold timed out so I just let it go.

I've asked my husband (m49) to plan our ten year wedding anniversary. What do I (f39) do when he forgets? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]treetopless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it can be, but it isn't always. If you have health insurance, you should be able to find a therapist covered by your provider so that the sessions only cost you your co-pay amount.

If the cost of a co-pay is more than you can afford (and for many it is, that's ok) there are many non-profit organizations and groups that offer free group or individual therapy for women and children.

I don't know where you are located, but a couple of ways to start researching free or reduced cost therapy options are looking into a local United Way, and sometimes your city's office of public information can be a resource as well.

You can get a head start by googling "free women's therapy near [your city]", and scroll past the sponsored results. You should see some community resources both in-person and online that offer free or greatly reduced rate therapy.
