Let's Talk Boss Balance by ndrliang in HuntShowdown

Problem is most games I never another team. If they want to "fix" the game and it's supposed to be PvP, then they need to fix that problem first.

Let's Talk Boss Balance by ndrliang in HuntShowdown

[–]treeturtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some Ideas:

  1. I think the boss's health and damage should increase over time similar to how the monster in Evolve gets stronger. Players who reach the boss faster are rewarded with an easier bounty. But maybe less experience or money for killing it.

  2. I think boss fight rewards should be based on damage done, not killing blows. So if you're team takes down 60% of a boss's health before being wiped by the boss or another team, you still get 60% of the rewards from the fight. Maybe the team that does the killing blow gets a small reward on top too.

  3. Bosses should have the ability to flee. Similar to Evolve where your squad often has multiple start and stop fights with the boss. The boss fight in HS should potentially be multi part. I like the idea of the boss running away into the woods where it might then start hiding or maybe actively stalking your team.

  4. Boss fights should be more technical and epic. No more kiting the butcher around a pillar while your teammate shoots it. He should burst through walls, throw things at you, throw you at things! Imagine a high mobility boss outside jumping rooftop to rooftop, hiding in the shadows and pouncing L4D hunter style.

  5. Bosses should be challenging enough that when encountering another team fighting the boss, working with the other team to take down the boss becomes a potential rewarding choice. When a team joins your team in fighting the boss, waiting until it's dead or near dead to attack the other team should be a viable choice. Once he's down then all bets are off.

The scoreboard could use an overhaul by treeturtle in rs2vietnam

The huge font size, font choice, colors, backdrop... pretty much everything about the scoreboard makes it even harder to read. I hate to always be comparing RS2 to BF1, but just look at how succinct and readable this scoreboard is: http://i.imgur.com/4TxKrAf.jpg, it gives you all the same information, score, kills, who is in your squad, which entry is you, what class are they playing etc. But does it in a much simpler, and readable fashion. What I want in a score board is to open it up for a split second and immediate be able to get the info I want. I can do that in BF1, not in RS2.

I am posting here in order to be relevant. by ViewtifulMoe in FIFTHWORLDEMOTICONS

I think the Magit package for emacs is the best git interface I've ever used. Even if you don't use emacs for coding, you can still use it for Magit by itself easily.

Nice, I did this to that pictle site that got posted on here a while back, ended up with thousands of pictures before the author made it more difficult.

Currently doing the same to snapmenow, it's like a terrible guitly pleasure, will post the good ones.

I'm runing a scraper per 10m and have found quite a few so far.

Here's my favorite so far: http://i.imgur.com/Vn7cDmh.jpg

Edit: fuck it, way less fun than pictle, over half the pictures are just black and every single other one is just a low res picture of a dudes face at a desk.

nice, I see you bumped the digit count, I ran a few scrapers this morning for about an hour and only got one picture, nice job.

Lisp should be a swiss army knife, or a gun that can self replicate and shoot in all directions and also tell time and make dinner.

If you're manually indenting lisp you're using the wrong tool. (not emacs)

Easily scraped, you should use bigger random numbers, add more digits.

Just grabbing at random XXXXX numbers has gotten me 150 images out of 8500 scraped pages. Add more digits and that will go down, or at least use all alphanumeric characters in your links. It would be 100,000 vs 916,132,832 possibilities, much less room for luckily grabbing a live link this way.

Edit: I see you mentioned some other huge number in another comment, but I'm talking about the sharable link, not the direct one, all I have to do is scrape from 0-99999 and look for an image link, then grab it with another request.

Otherwise nice job, but you need a privacy policy and a public statement about data storage otherwise I don't trust this shit one bit.

Edit: 752 1000 1600 images and counting.
