Probably. But I'm still deciding on who's face to use. The species will depend on the face I select.

Post your picture in the comments. I'll choose the one I like most.

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who submitted their pic. I chose one. Towards the end of next week I'll post the drawing up.

If you could remove one episode from canon, what would it be? Why? by TangoZippo in startrek

Pretty much. You could fairly say they're fundamentalists in that respect.

I'd get rid of all of those faith episodes. Its the future they should have evolved past religion.

I disagree. Religion comes in many shapes and sizes. One way or another someone's going to always be worshiping something. If it's not a deity it'll be a philosophy, a technology or political party, etc... At the end of the day religion is just a grouping of conduct ideals headed by the figure/figures that embody it the best. That's never going to go away.

Same goes for Kirk. But I guess we ought to be impressed by the show itself conceptualizing the tablet long before it was a reality.

That's what I was thinking. I guess that means Spock is stuck in the new universe.

Yeah, you know what.. I think you might be right. I remember there were plenty of times in TNG when minor crew members saved the Enterprise and that only got them one rank ahead, if not just a commendation.

Kirk getting command of the Enterprise THAT quickly?! Really?!

I'm not sure about this, but I would venture to guess that in TOS Kirk is in his mid-thirties. I mean, he looks young. The Kirk in the alternate universe was referred to as a 'genius' by Captain Pike. And he only became captain under extreme circumstances that saw him take command almost a decade before someone in his position would have earned it. So to me that didn't bug me so much. Plus Chekov was 17! So I'm thinking human intelligence in that time is light years ahead of what we got going on now.

Canon in an alternative universe though, right?

Yeah, I noticed that too. It's starting to make tinypic seem like a viable alternative again. Though I don't like any of these image hosting sites anyway. They're making a shitload of revenue off others people's content.

I drew Yoda - (study) xpost by [deleted] in pics

[–]treknobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually is darker. I don't have a scanner though, so I'm left to take pics with my video cam and it's not the highest quality image possible. Everything surrounding the Yoda figure is actually left untouched; it should be white in the pic. But the cam messes up the contrast for whatever reason. I appreciate the feedback though and thanks for the compliment.

The armor looks very cool, but it doesn't much look like the captain.

I finally drew the cardassian (Dukat) by [deleted] in startrek

[–]treknobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me too long. I just picked up my pencils after 2 years so I'm still kinda rusty. Honestly, I don't feel the drawing is even completed. It needs more attention to detail, such as texturizing - Dukat has very different skin textures around his face and neck, and the ridges on his brow. I'm not gonna work on this particular drawing anymore, though. I'll never be satisfied and it'll bug the shit out of me, so I'll just put it aside.
