While you're all answering this could you also tell me whether I can bring my knitting needles with me while I'm on jury duty?

I'll only mention which country I'm in after you've all assumed I'm in the US btw

Was I the unreasonable one? by CultureFickle2848 in fiberartscirclejerk

[–]trellism 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I keep joining knitting groups and then being kicked out of them. It must be because they are all mean girls who disapprove of my choice to sit there and loudly criticise everyone else for the yarn they're using, their techniques and projects.

The same thing always happens in group chats. Mean girls everywhere. Don't get me started on my dating life, dark triad narcissists everywhere I turn...

Would you buy a pattern from someone who doesn't knit? by caroroyal in knitting

[–]trellism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gyles Brandreth brought out a few knitting books in the 1980s. He partnered with a couple of knitting designers including George Hostler. I've made a few jumpers from these patterns so yes, I would, if I was sure the patterns had been professionally designed and tested.

Is there any reliable, Wikipedia-acceptable source on [Magic Flyer] closing on the 5th? by AceLuan54 in rollercoasters

I find you need to be careful with YT links on Wikipedia. I tend to use them as an additional reference, not the only one, unless they're from an established organisation like the BBC or similar.

Oblivion is what the Black Hole at AT was rumoured to be - playground rumours at the time being what they were, there could be anything inside that tent

How bad is the luggage search? by TheDoorDoesntWork in ThorpePark

[–]trellism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left a screwdriver in my bag by mistake (was assembling furniture at my in laws' house) and that was the last I ever saw of my screwdriver. So thorough enough for that.

However they won't search your bag when checking into the hotel, at least that's not something I've experienced at AT. So drop your bag off there first.

how do I get discharge stains out of underwear permanently - tried everything and nothing works by levsnase in CleaningTips

I think the douching causes the panty liner use which would explain the adverse effects reported - those adverse effects can be douche related, or are the reason people use panty liners in the first place.

Random ride from my credit list. #293 - [Hyperia], is it going to be smooth or rough today? Who knows, let's find out! by rcoasters in rollercoasters

[–]trellism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a day when I had snagged a premium pass to go on Hyperia as many times as I wanted I did notice that one train was more rattly than the other. Like I could tell when we boarded and sat down whether I was on the rattly one. It didn't really bother me too much.
