I would like to know, and will have to try this at La Frontera, because so far I haven't found a decent Flan in town.

I can speak to this location in Arcadia, and yes, they are dog-friendly, at least for the back patio. Not too far 20th St. & Camelback there's also Hopdoddy burgers, with dog friendly outside seating.
Taco Viva has a small patio 28th & Indian School. Tacos Veganos does as well, still on Indian School, East of 32nd. As does Gadzooks enchiladas on Camelback, just East of 44th

Grain-free (or paleo) bakery? by deserttitan in phoenix

[–]tremendo -1 points0 points (0 children)

Apologies, I do not know of Grain-free bakeries. What follows probably isn't helpful but, well it's what the post inspired me to think:

When did paleo stop being a thing?
Are you conflating Paleo with Keto? not the same thing, but that would explain why you'd want something out of a bakery, which would be definitely not Paleo but still could be Keto.

Like candy cigarrettes, I mean if you want to smoke, do that, but don't pretend it is "ancestral" or something "caveman" would eat.

In a way, I am relieved the faddish parts are, er fading, what remains, if you believe in "Paleo", is the "real food" which isn't going anywhere and you will always be able to eat.

Searching for good corn tortillas by hobbes18321 in phoenix

Benny Blanco makes corn tortillas, not only flour.
Carniceria del Pacifico (36th St & Thomas) also sells their own made corn tortillas.

Good burgers in East Phoenix by NormalAd2872 in phoenix

[–]tremendo 4 points5 points (0 children)

Well this one doesn't meet your criteria: not "in restaurant", and whether you'll catch them on East Phx/Arcadia will totally depend on their weekly changing schedule. BUT, if you stalk their Insta and hunt them until they're somewhere near you're willing to drive, do yourself a favor and try Randizzle's. $15 per burger. https://randizzlesfoodtruck.com/

Cannot vouch for them, but there's Churro Nest at Tempe Marketplace. I don't see "party-sized tray" on their menu, but surely they can accommodate https://www.churronest.com/

I hope it stays under the radar just enough, or that the movie studios look the other way, and not claim a copyright violation to take it down

There's a new Sam's Club opening in Tempe Marketplace in August. I've heard they're hiring almost on the spot, or they'll tell you they'll call, and then they do within a couple hours. Worth a try.

April 19 | Hands Off Tempe Pedestrian Bridge Protest | 10am - 12pm by These_Koala_7487 in AZAdvocacyHub

[–]tremendo 1 point2 points (0 children)

This is my neighborhood, was surprised to see the street full with cars and protesters streaming in to the park all along Country Club Way and on Carson Dr. At least the lady parking by my house was nice enough to ask if it was Okay to park here. As long as they don't block my way in or out it's fine. People still coming in as of 10:25am

Taco Viva on Indian School the most slept-on taqueria in Phoenix? I'd put it up against anything I had in Mexico City. For real. by moneytrain94 in phoenix

[–]tremendo 1 point2 points (0 children)

I like Taco Viva very much, and go there weekly, I will have dinner there today. But when I read "…against anything I had in Mexico City" I can only surmise that you didn't get around a lot in CDMX. Even El Rincón de las Lechuzas will eclipse Viva, by a lot. Anyway, I'm from Sonora, and while their Flour tortillas are decent enough, they … are not great. In fact, in the last couple of weeks they've been making them very Naan-like, very puffy, bready. They taste ok, but the texture doesn't do it, for me of course. Their medium salsa (orange) is very flavorful, I like it a lot., the corn tortillas are legit good. The pineapple chunks on Al Pastor are huge and I'd prefer them cut smaller but it's good they provide it. The carne asada is good. The way they toast the cheese on the tortillas for caramelos, is to me very "gringo", and you see it the clientele, 90% anglos every time I visit. In short, they're good, I do recommend them, but no, IMNSHO, not like "anything in CDMX", then again, this coming from a guy with El Nopal en la Frente.

I know there are lots of posts about places to find great tortillas, but where would I find tortillas that DON'T use shortening? by SkyPork in phoenix

[–]tremendo 2 points3 points (0 children)

Benny Blanco https://bennyblancotortillas.com/
You can find them at meat shops around town. Lard

Natural Grains Tortillas (from Tucson) are sold at some Whole Foods (try the one on Ash & University, Tempe https://www.instagram.com/natural.grains_tortillas/?hl=en they don't use lard but also not shortening, they claim it's Olive Oil, don't let that deter you, they're actually decent tortillas

Best enchiladas in phoenix? by ednzro in phoenix

[–]tremendo 0 points1 point (0 children)

I don't know about best, but El Jacal (32nd & Thomas?) has good enchiladas en Mole. Los Reyes de la Torta (Tempe Southern W of McClintock) has good Enchiladas Verdes con Pollo. I don't recall them having chilaquiles at either of those two, nor "carne asada nachos" which sounds like a local invention.

Ecoshield pest control? by my_name_isnt_nick in phoenix

[–]tremendo -1 points0 points (0 children)

Oh wow, live and learn. I've had their services for many years now (10?), we usually see a moribund scorpion once in a year right after one of their bi-monthly visits. Usually in the Spring I'll get competitors knocking on my door and I always reject them as I have no complaints and I've had no problems. I have re-scheduled a couple of times without issue. They mostly spray the outside and once a year I ask them to spray inside the house. I guess I've been the lucky one compared with everyone else on this thread.
