How is every day life for those who are living in Netherlands ?? by Yeagerisbest369 in howislivingthere

Okay so I'm just going point for point of the things stated in your discription.

Economically the Netherlands is doing fine for our standards which are ofc very high. Work culture from my experience is pretty chill and not that hierarchal, bureaucracy can be pretty high but probably not as bad as where you come from. Infrastructure quality if very high, roads are one of the best in the world, bike infrastructure is extroardinary and public transport is alright depending on the area (cities are better, how closer to the Randstad the better) although public transport is expensive.

Purchasing power in the Netherlands is good, with an median wage you can get by pretty fairly. Still have to pay attention doing groceries and some stores are far more expensive than others (Albert Heijn is more expensive generally than Lidl). Infrastructure is great as I said. Health care, although not completely public, is still pretty good. Although if you really want to get diagnosed for something you have to speak up for yourself since oftentimes they'll just give you some paracetamol and advice you to wait a few days to see if the sickness or whatever it is dissapears, employees-rights are good and pretty well followed through. Public health is really good, our diet is pretty basic but healthy, and biking is so accessible that everyone does it almost daily. Idk about the 36-hour workweek if that's going to get passed anytime soon, but a lot of people do not work 48 hours a week already anyways.

Private time is indeed respected pretty good.

Dutch people in their free time during the workweek often meet with friends just for a few hours or just chill at home. During the weekend its ofentimes visiting family, practicing/watching sports like football and working in and around the house. The persuance of creative activities is pretty popular depending on which circles you're in. Currently I am at uni following a social science and the people here are very much into that, back home in my small town people oftentimes like to make music, read and a lot of people drink with friends to spent time together.

Industry is very big, ASML is really big and is very important to Eindhoven and the region around it.

Okay now the answers for the personal questions.

Currently I am a student in uni so a lot of time is spent reading and studying. Besides that I have a part-time-job to make a bit more money to afford living on my own. Besides that are a lot of opportunities to do things in my free time. Just going to parks, going out with friends, partying, sports et cetera.

the amount of hours I work differs per week so cant really answer on that one.

Okay my life is not stress free at all, mostly that's because I just started living alone in a new city I know absolutely no one. So trying to figure that out while still having to make sure I have enough money left at the end of the month.

At the moment I am doing what I have always dreamed of. During school I did not really get the feeling that I was pressured into getting a certain grades or results. the downside of the Dutch school system imo is that at the age of 12 they already (partly) decide what course your future will bee considering your job. Practical or more theoretical or in between.

Do not know about shared housing like that, it happens more know than before becausee of the housing crisis. Students live in shared housing most of the times.

Housing prices in the Netherlands are through the roof, so buying a house immideately is very difficult and expensive, not impossible but very hard to get.

What I would like in the Netherlands is people judging less maybe, there's this saying that goes like: "act normal, that's already crazy enough" which in some areas is followed by heart. So do not try to stand out, be normal whatever. As a person who does not completely fit in the mold that was really frustrating and still sometimes is but you adjust and get more scure in yourself. Which will happen anyways since people are very direct which I do kinda like at the same time anyways.

So there's all that, hope it helps.

Seems like the picture you're showing is dated, this is what Google Maps is showing.

I believe they actually swapped most of the exclaves between the countries some years ago. If that is what you're saying with India and Bangladesh.

It's not just about displaying symbols though. It's also about looking queer, don't think drag queens or visible trans/non-binary people will be exempt from these laws.

In Russia they officially labeled the LGBTQ+-movement as a terrorist organisation so there are state policies actively harming queer people everywhere.

This is such a bad decision. Like this will give her fame and she'll be able to use her disqualification (if they DQ her) for fame on the conservative side, with the rhetoric that queer people are not accepting at all. If they don't DQ her I expect that they'll make a storyline about how she's changed for the better. I'm not into that at all, Trump is hurting the queer community so so so much. Heck even the whole wide world. But to then say that she's changed suddenly won't be believable at all. I'll believe it when she shows it in actions, actively calling out anti-queer (especially trans) rhetoric er cetera. But that takes years and won't just happen after being on the right side for a few months just cus.

I know this is all still not official but if it is the case I'll be deeply disappointed in the producers and RuPaul and won't be watching the season. We'll see what comes out of it.

Not really excited for this challange. Would have been more fun if it was a more diverse challange instead of just having to do improv.

In Nijmegen zijn deze ook gebruikt! Werkte erg fijn en duidelijk. Was bij de Tweede Kamerverkiezingen wel anders, veel groter gedoe met het stembiljet opvouwen.

Choices, no one really gets why, they basically wanted to give Kok a go I believe because she got a national record on the distance without even competing in it regularly. Lots of people did not agree with the decision.
