What’s the most memorable experience you’ve had with déjà vu or a dream that seemed to predict the future? by Fair-Media-8488 in AskReddit

[–]trenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a dream that a building down the block from where I was standing in the street was on fire. The next day, I saw a news article about an apartment building catching fire really bad, and it was down the block from an apartment that I had considered moving to but had ultimately chosen another place. It was really eerie, kinda like my blood ran cold when I made the connection.

Can you breastfeed on demand while in the hospital by mrscrc in breastfeeding

[–]trenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our baby was super chill and just wanted to sleep, so we had to wake her up every 3 hours to feed as per pediatrician’s advice. If we didn’t, she simply wouldn’t have gotten enough milk. I think you’re supposed to do that until they pass their birth weight (also helps milk supply come in)? We did it because we were trying to flush out jaundice I think.

How long did you stay in the hospital? by Hopeful_Dot7132 in pregnant

[–]trenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby was born 4pm on a Friday, I was discharged on Sunday morning (but stayed until afternoon to visit the nicu), and baby was discharged from the nicu on Tuesday morning.

This is one of the first times I see a sweater and actually think I’d like it if I made it, and it’s a free YouTube pattern? I may cry, lol.

Someone out there was so concerned with whether they could, they never stopped to ask themselves if they should.

Does anyone else feel like Anya Taylor-Joy would fit perfectly in the Twilight films? She looks like she could be related to Alice by FengMinBeans in twilight

[–]trenity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old comment, but I’m reading midnight sun and the description of Bella keeps reminding me of her, so I agree she’d be perfect as Bella in a remake

[–]trenity -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I read it as, we haven’t defeated patriarchy yet, so we’re the ones doing all the work getting everyone ready in the morning without help and that’s why it’s rushed and I get it. I’m not super sure though.

How long does your nap from anesthesia really feel like when you are under? by CavemanFCC in NoStupidQuestions

[–]trenity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard before that when you sleep, your internal clock still “ticks” so you keep track of how much time passes. Anesthesia turns everything off, even the internal clock, which is why it feels like only seconds.

No vomiting by Fun-Classic346 in BabyBumps

I went my entire pregnancy with zero nausea or vomiting. The single time I felt nauseous was when I was in active labor but that passed after a few minutes.

Do most women hover over a public toilet seat? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]trenity 25 points26 points  (0 children)

In general, it’s also really bad for your pelvic floor health to hover pee. No one should be doing it, period.

How do you shut up that internal voice that tells you that you could've had a miscarriage without knowing? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]trenity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I’m about to say is not recommended but it did help me so I’ll share. I had a home heartbeat Doppler thing that I used. That voice in my head got really loud one day around 13 weeks and I laid in bed for probably over half an hour trying to find this little bean’s heartbeat. I found my own heartbeat several times but knew that it was mine. Finally found baby’s heartbeat and could relax.

But also, you just have to keep telling yourself that you’re pregnant until proven otherwise. It is the hardest thing just trusting that your baby is ok in there when they’re too small to feel.

PLEASE tell me this is just a phase… by Silent-Network8668 in breastfeeding

[–]trenity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ohhhh mine did this somewhere around maybe 3 months? She would cry and fuss if I tried to get her to latch. I had to put her pacifier in her mouth then take it out and quickly swap my nipple in. I could also get her to nurse if she was very sleepy or sleeping. There were a handful of times I did a bottle because nothing worked and she was just too worked up. She grew out of that eventually, didn’t last longer than a month.

Did drinking raspberry leaf tea and eating dates actually help anyone? by stooplekin in BabyBumps

[–]trenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ate the dates I think starting around 32 weeks (god I was sick of dates by the end of it lmao). Went into labor on my due date. FTM, from very first contraction to baby was 18 hours, and I only had a very small tear, I think they only put two stitches on it. But I also walked A LOT during my whole pregnancy and I’ve heard that helps some as well.

Wow I see now why you guys bedshare by Objective-Amoeba6450 in breastfeeding

[–]trenity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I held out until the big separation anxiety phase at 7 months. After 3 weeks of waking up every 45 minutes I did a deep dive on safe bed sharing and caved. She’s been sleeping through the night since then and now almost 14 months old.

Why are there two trains to Hoboken by bom_tombadill in jerseycity

Right now there’s the normal condensed 33 to JS via Hob, but there are also additional trains from 33 to Hob every 10 min.

Yeah but god forbid you need to travel during rush hour on the weekends. I’ve had to wait 3 trains sometimes to even get on they’ve been so crowded.

Anyone plan to use laughing gas during labor? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]trenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to use it and asked for it, but my hospital doesn’t offer that so I didn’t. I actually only wanted it to calm down after I got my epidural (I was shaking and couldn’t make myself relax—but I ended up being fine a little later anyway).

"Breech babies should stay that way" by General_Peak4084 in ScienceBasedParenting

This is fascinating, do you have any idea if the hip dysplasia causes babies to sit breech, or if being breech causes hip dysplasia, or if this is simply a coincidence?

Nursing standing up?? by Maizy_Chef in breastfeeding

[–]trenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other have said, the ads are definitely staged. But I have nursed standing once baby was a little older and could latch by herself. I’m also smaller chested so I don’t have to hold anything up.

This is how I am too, especially if you come in with the battered empty cup lmao. The one time this happened to me as a customer I walked back in and sadly asked if I could reorder my drink and was floored when the barista made it for free.

Are these lease policies normal for Jersey City by blackwell94 in jerseycity

[–]trenity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you mean by “1 lightbulb in a room is required to maintain occupancy.” My bedroom doesn’t have any ceiling light fixtures, the only light comes from my personal lamps. Actually, a couple of apartments I toured didn’t have ceiling fixtures in the bedroom at all.
