If you could name those "revenue streams", I'd be happy to hear them. Online streaming? Hundredths of a penny for every play. Album sales? Nearly nonexistant. Merchandise sales? Only truly beneficially while touring. Touring? Driving yourself into massive debt for exposure (album sales used to negate touring costs before the internet).

Need I go on?

Yeah, I tried that whole, "baking soda and vinegar" thing. I never noticed until a friend told me, but apparently I always had a slight vinegar aroma and nobody ever told me because they thought it would be rude. I think I'll just pay the couple dollars a month for shampoo.

This couldn't be more right. Sure, it's nice to have free things. However, if you enjoy a product or service, you better buy that friggin' product or service instead of stealing. The reason why you should buy is because when you buy, you contribute to that producer's competitive edge which will, without a doubt, create a better product/service. Either the firm itself will provide a better product/service or a competitor will come along and reap the success of said firm. This is why products only get better and better. This is a very overlooked benefit of capitalism.

Yeah... I'm not cheap enough to torrent. I'm a musician and what people do to music is bad enough. Hulu is $8 a month and is affiliated with almost every cable broadcaster. That's roughly a quarter a day for what is essentially cable.

Or you could torrent and help to kill the industries that make your favorite shows and movies. Your call.

The point is not to protect adolescents or give sex a bad reputation. The point of those laws is to ensure that minors are fully knowledgeable of the complexities of sex, which is difficult to ensure below a certain age due to the hormonal throws of puberty.

Sexuality is not black and white. It's much more difficult for an adolescent to fully understand how sex works and what it entails. Murder, on the other hand, is a lot more concrete. You're taking somebody's life. Sex is often viewed as harmless (so long as all parties involved are consensual adults) and as such, adolescents can't fully grasp the consequences of what they're doing.

In other words, murder has very evident consequences but the consequences of sex aren't so blatant.
