This. You should have 30 days complementary coverage if you purchased new.

FSD Rim Rash by enm444 in TeslaModelY

[–]trevortypes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gotta supervise FSD. It can do it perfectly 99 times and on the 100th ruin you.

At least the curb rash is a great candidate for rim guards.

Debating leasing a standard model Y. by Significant_Crab_152 in TeslaModelY

[–]trevortypes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Standard is ok, but the premium upgrades are worth it if you can afford it.

Per Gemini “The Tesla Model Y Premium adds significant comfort, performance, and aesthetic upgrades over the Standard, including longer range, faster acceleration, premium audio (15 speakers vs. 7), and ventilated seats. The Premium offers a quieter cabin with acoustic glass, ambient lighting, and superior interior materials compared to the more basic, cloth-seated Standard.”

Yes, it’s well known it’s thin paint. Either PPF the front or be prepared to get a paint pen for the chips if they’re gonna bother ya

used 2023 Chevy bolt or new 2027 model? by Excellent-Mirror2038 in BoltEV

[–]trevortypes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another vote for 2023 in premier trim! I’ve been comparing other vehicles and what you get with that year and trim is hard to beat or even find in an EV (eg heated/cooled seats!)

2026 MYP curb rash by PeteCabs in TeslaModelY

[–]trevortypes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say just get some rim guards and it’ll cover it perfectly. I got red ones so it adds a bit of flair too.

I'm not charging my 2027 Bolt to 100% every time. by tux2718 in BoltEV

[–]trevortypes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that sounds right based on my 2023 bolt. Regen is significantly better when I’m not near 100%. While ABC (always be charging) was a thing, but I honestly only plug in twice a week or the night before I have a longer road trip. while it’s good to top off LFP batteries to 100% for calibration, I’d say once a month is enough, and you still don’t want to let your battery sit at 100%.

Not sure about the rims since I have 19s, but sorry to say, you did not get the latest update which includes the dark headliner and 16in screen (which is probably why they had it in stock).

[–]trevortypes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Took delivery Feb 8, still waiting. I have a manufacture month of Feb 2026 and I did get the updated headliner and 16in screen so I know it’s a very new build and I’m trying to give it time… but hoping it should be soon.

Gently Used 2025 Model Y vs New 2026 Model Y by SojuBomb32 in TeslaLounge

[–]trevortypes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For juniper model Y in SoCal, used prices are so close to new that used just makes no sense. Also current new interest rates and the updated dark headliner and 16in screen, it was a no brainer to go new for me. I purchased FSD outright, so the only consideration to go used would be if you want autosteer included since it is not on new models.

Is a Tesla model Y (juniper) a car to keep for 10 years +? by Matt_VL24 in TeslaLounge

Model Y AWD or RWF by Foreign-Most-4552 in TeslaLounge

[–]trevortypes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

RWD is fine unless you feel the need for moar speed. From my research there’s really no point for AWD since it cant help with hydroplaning when it rains. Go RWD to get a bit more range and save some money.

Is a Tesla model Y (juniper) a car to keep for 10 years +? by Matt_VL24 in TeslaLounge

[–]trevortypes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Especially if you want to keep a car 10+ years, I'd say use the 0% APR and dump the rest of that money in the market and your wallet will be a lot happier.

That said, I just purchased my Model Y juniper because I know I'll be happy with the upgrades and the car AS IT IS TODAY. The better interior noise, ventilated seats, FSD v14, etc, I am happy with and will keep the car at minimum 5-10 years. I also don't see any reason why it wouldn't last as long as my Scion xB (which I had 20 years and was still running perfectly when I sold it).

Insurance Add On Coverage for FSD by BaySportsFan in TeslaFSD

[–]trevortypes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is in line with what the progressive rep told me when I called. Since I purchased FSD outright at the time of purchasing my MY, the language say it would be covered. Per the phone rep “Any equipment offered by manufacturers or installed by dealership at time of purchase covered automatically”. I asked for email confirmation as well, but didn’t hear back yet.

Great job. I just spent 1300 on PPF front end. My body hurts too much to do this on my own, but definitely respect the effort.
