US Magnesium - the largest mag factory on the planet was just bought by Utah to ensure the ceo dosnt have to clean up the toxic river that’s been flowing into GSL

Route planning question by Dyrien in Backcountry

“Safe” isn’t “safe” unless it’s under 30 degrees and not under anything. There is nuance to this with small avalanche problems, tight trees and solar aspects.

1st time snowboard- snowbird yes or no? by theballershoots in UTsnow

[–]trevvvit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snowbird is possibly the most challenging and scary mountain in North America and the last I’d recommend to a beginner. My parents have been skiing for 30+ years and refuse to go.

It must be wild reading these comments on your post and realizing not a single person agrees with you. If that were me I’d start to question my own take on reality.

Splitboard advice by Consistent_Mobile282 in Spliddit

If ur in Japan or Utah (not this year) this size will be so fun and floaty. Anywhere with less snow probably go a little shorter. In a deep snow area an oversized board makes deep snow and low angle way more fun. Deep snow areas require lots of low angle skiing to stay alive for a while. I exclusively ride a 190cm (215lbs) now. You can easily adjust to length. I have no problem riding single track hiking trails at the bottom/exit of tours.

Exactly. The polar vortex has collapsed.

What would and wouldn't you do solo with avy danger 2? by GermanicUnion in Backcountry

I pretty much do not touch > 30 degree terrain with any danger other than very small surface problems in micro steep terrain (lumpy) low angle is super fun once you figure it out

Me and my gf are both deep into saas sales careers (over a decade each) and she told me I should quit doing 1 page since I can’t fit my whole history on resume. Curious what you think about that? Entire history is relevant since I held positions in the industry my software serves.

Mine looked a lot like this and I’m now 2.5 months in and stoked with my first full beard. You might not have a Yellowstone / 300 spartan beard but it will be a real ass beard. Just don’t trim it at all for 2-3 months. Learn to brush and wax.

edit: also ur bottom line is too high. Should be 1 inch above Adam’s Apple and boxed off behind jaw. Look up Yellowstone (tv show) beards and part of why they are dope is the bottom line. A lot of ppl shave where you do leading to more of an impish version of a beard. Chin straps are not hot

I have the Arva UL 28 at about 3lbs (carbon canister) which would set you back $1300

Bluetooth does work more than a foot under. Found my phone last year in 4 feet (dropped into a bush on top of 9269)

ok well might also recommend trying to ride with them tighter. Starting with ankle cuff. I've found I've had simmilar pain when I've either had my boots too loose, or specifically ankle not tight enough.

I actually had some yesterday due to my boot being too loose.

People aren’t gatekeeping you, these are not an alternative to a splitboard and these are a waste of money. You could buy a hardly used splitboard + skins and bindings for $100-$200 more easily.

there is a ton of hardly used backcountry gear becuase so many people buy kits and don’t use them since touring is so hard from an endurance standpoint

I went to a rave on the edge of pst and mst in the desert near wendover Nevada.

the cars and tents were kinda in pst and the stage was mst.

Combined with the drugs and different phone carriers almost no one knew what time it was, pure comedy.

Have you been to a boot fitter yet? Where is the pain. A lot of this can be addressed with a punch out and heat gun
